The reason its obviously a GTR is because of the hood. The GTR hood has a grille that consists of 3 bars and the lock is different. If you put a GTR hood on a GTS it doesnt line up correctly and their is a noticeale gap because of the difference in the radiator core support design!

R32 GTR can be converted to RWD they're AWD not 4WD. If you want to convert it you either remove a fuse (The R33 and R34 did not have this option) or remove the front driveshaft. Its as simple as removing a little fuse from the fuse box which disables the power to the front as it runs on a torque converter attached to the ATTESA system which is hooked up to the ECM.

The standard ECU would go spaz too. You might also put extra stress on the std drivetrain to the power shift from all wheels just to the back. Might be as simple on paper but realistically I think youd come across some problemos. My mates eager to get his R33 sideways but hes ripping it all apart.

@MrGangleyMoose Well maybe... But I know some guys that drifts with GTR, some have a switch to make their car RWD or AWD... But the AWD system of the GTR is special. It sends power to the front wheels only when there is a lost of power, so it's a RWD, but when the computer detects that the rear wheels are spinning, its AWD. So you just have to turn of that detection and that's it, you have a RWD.

No remap needed, it's just that the car's computer don't think there is a loss of traction because the detection system is off, so the rear wheel can spin! GTR are awesome...
It's a well-known fact that you can pull a fuse in a GTR32 and it'll kill power to the front wheels. Later GTRs require additional modification, but with a GTR32 it's as simple as that.
Not really any reason it can't be a GTR... Keyboard warriors... haha

And it's a GTR. You obviously know nothing if you don't know that the ATTESA system can be disabled, in an R32, by simply removing a fuse.. Which is why they are popular for drifting.
The one and only thing that points to it being a GTR is the tougher, wider stock GTR rear quarter guards/fenders. Most other parts are interchangable between the gts/t/gtr, but the rear guards/fenders are not.

@tristancauvin awd cars don't really drift because they require the power on to maintain a slide on a road which is called powersliding, not drifting. On dirt you can drift awd cars because the front wheels don't have the grip to correct the front end when modulating the throttle.

Uh.. no. It's 100% a R32 GT-R Skyline. I was there all day competing in my car and got knocked out early so I had plenty of time to watch the rest of the competition. Besides, that guy competed in that series all year in that car.
Since forever. They just have 2 circle lenses inside each tail. Anyway, you can't really see the rear in this video anyway, GripVideo has the original footage on their DVD very clear. They also show the after damage of that GT-R, he had broken tie rod and 2 flat tires on right side. I have talked to the guy a dozen times, he's well know for drifting his R-32 GT-R. An S-15 is an entirely different car with very different body lines, windows, etc.

@Twentiesss there isn't a difference between the R32 gt-s and gtr quarter panels, just the hood, but a gtr hood should be easy to get. Just makes more economic since to turn a gt-s into a drift car then an gtr.

Uh.. no. It's 100% a R32 GT-R Skyline. I was there all day competing in my car and got knocked out early so I had plenty of time to watch the rest of the competition. Besides, that guy competed in that series all year in that car.

Since forever. They just have 2 circle lenses inside each tail. Anyway, you can't really see the rear in this video anyway, GripVideo has the original footage on their DVD very clear. They also show the after damage of that GT-R, he had broken tie rod and 2 flat tires on right side. I have talked to the guy a dozen times, he's well know for drifting his R-32 GT-R. An S-15 is an entirely different car with very different body lines, windows, etc.
