@heyhowyouredoingman It is faster. They changed the speeds slightly on the slim model to fix the overheating problem the CPU had on the fat model. Along with some other mods they added.

@founder3 Actually they didn't, by the time they released the PS3 slim the cell processor was shrunken from a 90nm die to a 45nm die greatly reducing the power usage and also the heat produced. Thus fixing the ylod. Also to ad in my input, I didn't see any difference between the blue ray playback in the video and I also own both a fat and slim system and see no difference between the two.

the hardware is the same in both ps3s both got the same cell processor the same RSX different HDDs that about it just more problems overheating known with fat was badly designed interior altho i loved the exterior compared to slim

you change the hard drive~ i only did the test cause was interested~ switching to a 7200rpm hard drive won't improve your game play experience or anything~ but just save you a few seconds when installing or loading a game~ so no big deal, the original 5400rpm works fine
