Retaliation? Judy could just go on Facebook and start spreading rumors about Jack, right? That way the whole school would know that he sleeps with a baby blanket and doesn't wipe his butt!
Let's fast forward 60 years later. When Judy tells Miss Brown that Jack is picking on her, Miss Brown calls Jack's parents. His parents threaten to go to the ACLU and sue the school district for "violating Jack's rights."
Or how about this? Jack pulls out a gun and starts shooting up the whole classroom. The class starts to freak out and they run for their lives. Miss Brown calls 911. The police come and Jack gets arrested. The parents hire a high-profile lawyer and sue the school district.
Bullies were around in the 60's and 70's when I was in school. And yes, I got picked on a lot and was teased as well. Whenever the kids picked on me (or anybody else) they used their hands and their feet. Also, whenever I saw fights in school, the teachers would simply step in and break it up.
Nowadays, bullying is really out of control. Kids today are bringing guns and knives to school. Teachers are getting attacked as much as the kids. The teachers can't control the class.
She should have said: "Of COURSE it stinks, you stupid shit! It's perfume, you fucking asshole! NOW PAY ME BACK FOR WHAT YOU JUST BROKE, OR I'LL CUT YOUR GODDAMN BALLS OFF!"
If she said THAT, Jack would have been the one crying.
I love how Judy was all proud of her first "real perfume" yet when when the boy knocks it out of her hand and breaks it she's not the least bit angry! And he was really calling her PERFUME stinky at first. She was WAY too sensitive! She knew he just meant that her perfume stinks. He's not saying she smells like shit or piss!
I'm pretty sure they made the high school teasing appropriate for 1st grade level because they wanted to play it safe. I'm sure calling her "Ugly", "Stupid or "Dyke and "Bitch" (more 9th level appropriate teasing) would have been too offensive for 50's tv. So they had to settle with childish teasing.
Wait until after class. follow him home. sneak into his house. Wait until everyones asleep. then wake him up scare the shit out of him. Knock him out. Put him in a giant body bag. drag him by his ankles dump him in the middle of no were set the bag on fire... Done...
Jack feels a strange stirring in his loins. Confused and enraged by these exotic new feelings, Jack's unconscious mind delves into a dark psychic power, tearing open a rift in the soul-stream and outpouring his fear and desperation into Judy's mind in a maddening chant:
and drunk sigmund frued says; does the boy believe the girl to be sticky, or do socialal norms dirtate that he perseive her as sticky, when if fact, she could be quite slick and greasy?
Perhaps this is part of what could help prevent school shootings and the like. Along with consoling of coarse, things went wrong when we stopped doing it right perhaps. Teaching kids empathy is a lost tenant in school now a days, when its "cool" to be an indifferent tormentor.
These films address problems rather than sweep them under the rug. They also provide practical and moral answers for students that would otherwise be left to their own devices. Thanks for uploading these! : >
Yeah...I went to report being teased constantly in 9th grade and was asked, "Why do you care what they think?" The teacher would've probably sent her to the office for disrupting the class these days. Maybe *some* things were better back then.
Basically half their age, and you'll get the age that they act in, in comparison to us. In this case, they're, what, 14? 15? Half that, and you get 7, which is the age that we would be emotionally scarred by people calling us 'stinky'.
yes and no lebomatseke it depends on the psychie and environments of the individual but it sure can help reduce and ease tensions within our school systems amongst our young ones.
