you succeeded. one of your former students, ricky hieggelke, introduced me to this video. i found it to be very powerful, as did the handful of friends i've shown it to. i used to be very heavy, and although i've since achieved a healthy weight, i still face many of these same demons; i suspect i always will. this portrait includes, word for word, many of the same thoughts i've had again and again. it will surely affect everyone who sees it, regardless of their size. thank you for your openness.

what do you not get? all thats going on is that he is confronting his obesity and showing everything he has to go through each day...like temptation for fatty foods.and how he has to situate the way he eats..to not just eat whenever, but to eat when hungry.he is expressing his feelings and showing how much weight he is losing in whatever amount of time.

The self-resentment could well be the worst enemy in this - if we view weight as punishment, we often justify it with the idea that we /deserve/ to be miserable.
