  • yes, mark brzeziski is a sick-ass drummer...as many chops as any jazz-fusion drummer but more musical, in my opinion

  • Bruce's performance is fantastic in this song.

  • If you ask me, this version is actually better than the album version! Anybody know where I can find this one on CD? Thanks, KeathBordeaux@aol.com

  • awesome!!!!!!!

  • Praise God for unformatted hard drives. What a gem. The sound and quality do this insanely good band real justice.

  • great song great year!

  • Mark is awesome. One of the best rock drummers of all time.

  • I don't know why but I love this band more and more each year. They are so understated it's not funny. I told a Scottish girl that 2 of my favorite bands hail from Scotland. Being a young lass girl she didn't know who they were (Big Country + Simple Minds). Scotland also produced ACDC so they must be doing something right..

  • They're all really doing the business here with intricate parts

  • i recorded this on tape live of the radio i had just started my y t s job ive still got the tape

  • Superb! Thanks for not formatting your hard drive! :-) ...and for posting this

  • After listening to the song "Big Country" a year or so ago, I knew this band was great and better than their one-hit-wonder status. Songs like this more than confirm my assumption: incredible musicianship, brilliant songwriting, and extremely catchy. I also got into the Proclaimers the same way after hearing "I'm Gonna Be". I love discovering great music! :D

  • From across the pond, I post this to let everyone know that while most of America forgot Big Country after their eponymous hit, some of us followed them through the years. Steeltown is one of my top 10 albums ever. Thank you, Big Country, and God rest your soul, Stuart.

  • I thought I'd seen all BC footage over the years - this is brilliant and sounds excellent too! Many thanks.

  • IN THE RAIN DANCE, I COOL IT ALL DOWN IT IS THE YEAR TO COME > > > Honestly ? ? ? There is no better song writer . . . .

  • Everytime -EVERYTIME - I see videos of them, I get emotional- knowing that Stuart is gone....Big Country got me through the 80's alive...

  • @pjstudevent ....I hear ya. It is amazing how something can make you feel so good and so sad all at once. I just cool it down.

  • Steel town was a great album, and so much differant from the crossing, so many great songs, great posting, saved and rated,

    Ian

  • thanks for the post - I wore steeltown out on vinyl and cd, too.

Awesome video - awesome song - thanks

  • Bruce with that slide into . . oh yes ! brilliant . .

  • bloody hell..amazing, rolls back the years.

  • class kass 69

  • one of the most beautifull song ever

  • aarlevanbram has it spot on! As soon as I heard Stuart talking, I recognised it right away. I have this on (audio) tape from a BBC Radio 1 session in March '86. Saw them later that year at the Barrowlands on June 29th, the night of the World Cup final. What a band to see for your first ever gig as a fifteen-year old...priceless memories! Stay alive!

  • Brilliant! Thanks for putting this up.

  • still can't get enough of this....lovely days!

  • Check the drums on this song at the start . . . . .amazing ! without any doubt a perfectly performed song , truly magnificent footage . . . . . . . .

  • It does NOT get any better than this! Thank you for this upload!

  • Essen, Gruga Halle 1986! Saw them in 1986 in Nijmegen, De Vereeniging, great show as wel!!!

  • Thank you!!!! Great song and performance!!!

  • wow!

  • Holy Schnikes! This is incredible! Thank you!

  • Brzezickis build is exemplary

  • Bruce is brilliant on slide guitar.

  • amazing.....remember hearing this as 14 year old and it blew my mind..still does..even in Germany:)

  • this is great, thank you, thank you!!

  • This must be the find of the century! Thank you so much!!!!!

  • God the drums at the beginning and the whole song are amazing!

  • @bradyirishguy Yes, Mark Brzezicki is at his sizzling best on this one. Somehow his drumming live was even better than his excellence in the studio.

  • Bad ass drum comp. Love the song!

  • Great stuff. Remember sitting by the radio and taping this gig. Happy days.

  • aye that they were!!!

  • this gig...was it ESSEN...one of my 1st live radio gigs here in uk...of bc..and has to be said ..prob. the best...thank you for this...also rockpalast dvd of BC... WOW!
