I don't know why but I love this band more and more each year. They are so understated it's not funny. I told a Scottish girl that 2 of my favorite bands hail from Scotland. Being a young lass girl she didn't know who they were (Big Country + Simple Minds). Scotland also produced ACDC so they must be doing something right..

After listening to the song "Big Country" a year or so ago, I knew this band was great and better than their one-hit-wonder status. Songs like this more than confirm my assumption: incredible musicianship, brilliant songwriting, and extremely catchy. I also got into the Proclaimers the same way after hearing "I'm Gonna Be". I love discovering great music! :D

aarlevanbram has it spot on! As soon as I heard Stuart talking, I recognised it right away. I have this on (audio) tape from a BBC Radio 1 session in March '86. Saw them later that year at the Barrowlands on June 29th, the night of the World Cup final. What a band to see for your first ever gig as a fifteen-year old...priceless memories! Stay alive!
