Man it must have been amazing being in that tiny room with one of the best bands ever at their peak nonetheless. It's so cool how they didn't mind playing such small venues during what was probably the peak of their popularity, they just wanted their music to be heard. Dennis is such an amazing guy, when I saw them he actually talked a lot in between songs and they had to cut their set short, but just hearing him speak was awesome, I'm not fully with him politically, but it didn't matter
@fishinwithguns What was interesting about that show was how bummed and reserved the band was. They stood around waiting and didn't talk to anyone that I could see. You could feel them breaking up. I had heard inklings of their break up & then record labels associated confirmed it to prior to the show. Interesting moment. One of my remaining memories of that show is telling the band outside that labels like Victory, EVR, etc wished them well and them just nodding. All they wanted was home.
@tomcodenyc ah yeah, that makes sense, I remember them on the DVD talking about one show, I think it was the drummer who said that at the show where the band was arrested, that he didn't even care and felt more like the police were "saving" him from having to play another show. It's been forever since I've watched that, I can't remember if they said exactly why they decided to break up and why they grew so weary of being in the band. It was kind of a depressing DVD.
@fishinwithguns Yea i wasn't a fan of the DVD due to that. That show was in Harrisonburg, VA. I tend to watch this more because it was a complete show and it fucking rips. haha
@tomcodenyc Yeah, I can tell, can't really hear Dennis but this is an awesome video and good performance by them as usual. When I was in a band I always preferred to play on the floor with the audience even if there was a stage, it's cool to see Refused play in such an intimate setting, even if they weren't totally into playing, they still give it their all it seems.
