I think Jesus is the lamb of God that died to redeem people from sin. But if I were an atheist I would not just be satisfied by the big bang explanation because if I'm not mistaken it doesn't explain the beginning of space. In terms of Kopimism if they truly believe that information is sacred then they should support or donate to people who took the toil to create a form of information, the authors. And so they might ended up creating IP Law all over again.
@Melki I'm an atheist and i am much like a vampire. I crave the knowledge and once i get a sip of it i need MORE MORE MORE and my hunger will only grow with the fulfilling of my appetite. For now i am thinking the big bang could be the way that the universe spreads all its shit after gravity sucks everything together. But i still have no idea why shit is there to start with. To me it seems quite logical that shit is just there. But why that shit and not some other shit?
Religion is not just an attempt to explain things we can't understand. Religions most powerful part is it's ability to "be the glue of society". In other words, it helps us have frameworks and symbols that create a community, and bind it together. The reason why people go to church on Sunday (or in my case, synagogue), is because - people go to church on Sunday!
I believe that free flow of information is a good thing, but piracy isn't good if that part is true, if someone shares their own work then it's all good, but anyone who steals someone elses work and uploads it without the original creator's consent is doing the wrong thing.

in my opinion, maybe the religion thing is a joke but not just a joke: is a way to show that, if you take any subject and distorts its facts, introducing abstracts concepts and "über" meanings, maybe the people will begin to endorse that cause just because its appears to be something greater than they, something for the fewer iluminated ones... for absurd and ilogical its sounds, we have to agree that it happens a lot and often works on zombies... hence, maybe it could work on congressmen...
@ragenfox Let me be clear in that I never spoke about God. Also "very likely" is not fact. Explain to me how knowing the universe is expanding proves the Big Bang Theory?
@kahageru Actually it does. As you seem well enough educated to know that Theories have been proving wrong time and time again in science. As not finding the Higgs Boson may change the way we look at physics, which Hank made a video about on SciShow.
@gtsinias scientists have tracked the way the universe is expanding. They reversed it and it coalesced into a single point; the center of the universe, ie something with a lot of energy forced the universe out from that point, what has a lot of energy and makes things move in all directions at once? @gtsinias The "theory" in Big Bang Theory is a defined term in science that does not stand for the same uncertainty we express when using "theory" in every day speech. Just as there are no real uncertainties in the Black Hole Theory or Theory of Evolution.

Religion has to involve life after death to also ease people's anxiety about fears of death. Nobody believes in any religion because they feel for a moral standpoint because plenty of philosophers have come up with more logical and practical ideologies. Like all humans we all just want an easy way to call ourselves "good people" without actually being good.
"Religion is an attempt to explain what we do not yet understand." Hmm. Very reductionist view of religion if you ask me. I strongly disagree with the idea that religion is something used to explain what we do not know. Rather, religion tends to be geared towards explaining everything. Not simply what we do not know, but everything we do know and witness in the universe. Religion and science are not opposites. They are one in the same.
@EricBoisen dan tends to buy the same item of clothing a couple of times if he likes it. so then it just seems like he wears the same shirt days/weeks/months in a row. i don't know if he actually still does that but i'm guessing that, that is it
Being that we are essentially organic computers ourselves, the fact that the government believes that the copying of media and the placement of it elsewhere is piracy means we are technically pirating every time we view copyrighted information even if we receive it legally.
In my opinion, whether there is a God or not, and I personally believe that there is, religion could be based on the fact that when people think they're more important than everyone else, relations break down. Having a higher being reminds you that you are as important as your friends, family, neighbours, etc. and therefore people interact more equally. Could someone please make argument if they can? Because I'd be very interested in other opinions, agreeing or opposing. Thanks!
@AdamTadz Opposing. Religion encourages groupthink, uncritically accepting that your group has the right answers while all other groups have the wrong answers, assuming they are special in receiving and understanding divine teachings they believe only their group will be saved while the rest of humanity is damned. When there are scriptural or sacramental arguments in a group we get splittings, or denominations. Religion is just another way to further divide us. It hasn't ended war.
@kitsunegames i really wish people would stop assuming that to be religious means to think everyone who doesn't believe the things you do is damned. (i'm sorry i couldn't break up that sentence.) sure, maybe there are some religions that do believe that, but not all do and, i think, not even the majority.
@lolmymag I wasn't assuming, you could say it's a generalization, but the majority of the religious in the world are either Muslim or Christian, and both of these religions holy books say exactly that, and the majority of the denominations of these religions agree with their holy books on this point, though the methods for attaining salvation from damnation vary.
@kitsunegames well i'm christian, i've been learning about my religion since before i started going to my christian school where i had religion class every weekday morning for ten years, and i've been going to mass at least once a week for the last eighteen years. obviously nobody's perfect, but i'm PRETTY positive, as in about 100% sure, that the bible doesn't say anywhere that non-christians are automatically going to hell. sooo get your facts straight.
@lolmymag Oh? Explain what you have to be saved from then. Explain why you need Jesus at all. Preachers/Priests and Imams have been preaching eternal damnation for generations, and continue to do so. Check out 2 Thessalonians 1:8–9, Mark 9:44–49, Matthew 25:41-46 just for starters.
@kitsunegames people need Jesus to help them be better people. however, Jesus will help even people who aren't christian if they're living their lives the right way. i'm not saying eternal damnation doesn't exist, i'm saying it's reserved for those who do terrible things and are never sorry. first bible quote: i already explained this. people have to follow the gospel, but that means being a good person. they don't have to do it as a christian.
@kitsunegames second bible quote: yeah, sinners are gonna be sent to hell, but only if they sin realizing that what they did was wrong, and if they're not sorry for it. third bible quote: same thing. evil people go to hell, and the righteous go to heaven. it never says they have to label themselves as christians to be righteous
@kitsunegames basically, the bible does say that the way to heaven is through Christ, but that doesn't mean that you have to be christian to go to heaven. it means that you have to follow the things Jesus taught, like forgiveness, generosity, and humility. whether you do that as a christian, muslim, or athiest doesn't really matter.
@lolmymag Your belief is dependent upon which denomination you adhere to, ask a Calvinist and you will get a different answer complete with scripture to back up their opinions. And don't think it's limited to Calvinists, every denomination has opinions on how to be saved that may or may not agree with yours.
@lolmymag The bible says a great many things, many of them conflicting, which is why there are so many denominations/divisions within Christianity. Jesus taught that he came to divide people, Luke 12:49. Jesus also says that he doesn't want to save the world, Mark 4:12. And the bible says what you believe in your life matters, John 6: 29, believing at the judgment is too late, Matthew 7:21-23.
@kitsunegames how can you claim to know anything about christianity with that last quote?! the judgement is after you've already died, obviously. if you were never sorry during your life, then waiting until God tells you you're going to hell to apologize isn't being sorry, it's being terrified to face the consequences that you brought upon yourself. shoulda realized earlier you were just trolling me -__-
@lolmymag Why would anyone be sorry if they never knew they were wrong?? The whole point is that people think they have the right of it, they think they know the answers, just as you think you know the answers. AND YOU DON"T! Every denomination believes they know what is necessary to be saved, and they disagree with every other denomination. Are you still wearing your blinders, are you also deaf and dumb? You must be. Have fun uncritically accepting your faith honey.
@kitsunegames if people truly believe they're doing the right thing, then they haven't done anything wrong, God understands, and they'll be welcomed into heaven with open arms. People have consciences, though. It doesn't take a genius to know right from wrong. what defines a "sin" is KNOWING full well that something is wrong and doing it anyway. you don't even know what a sin is, so i suggest you quit embarrassing yourself
@lolmymag "if people truly believe they're doing the right thing, then they haven't done anything wrong, God understands, and they'll be welcomed into heaven with open arms." And you know that how? Are you hearing voices in your head or do you have something to back that up with?
"you don't even know what a sin is" Still believe you can read minds I see. Telling me what I do or don't know. Go on living in fantasy land darling, the grown ups are busy.
@kitsunegames how do i know that? that's what my religion says. the religion we were talking about. it doesn't matter if you believe it or not. we were discussing christianity, not debating whether or not it's true. whether or not you believe in God is completely irrelevant to the conversation
and i don't know, maybe you do know what a sin is, but if so then you wouldn't have posted what you did in your last comment
@lolmymag "that's what my religion says" No. It. Doesn't. Your religion has many denominations that disagree with yours. I know you have the memory of a goldfish so I'll repeat myself once again, recall how I mentioned I was a Baptist? That's right, and our denomination disagreed with what you're claiming here. Calvinists disagree with what you're claiming here. And guess what? They are Christians too!
@kitsunegames and i would REALLY like it if you'd stop calling me "darling" and "honey." i know it's very common for people to resort to patronizing name-calling when they feel they're losing, but there are better ways to let everyone know how insecure you are.
@lolmymag Correction: How annoyed I am at your inability to PAY ATTENTION. We are talking about the divisiveness of Religion, about how religions even argue internally and split off into denominations because they have disagreements about the details such as disagreement about scriptural interpretation and sacramental ritual. And you'd prefer to completely ignore that and make blanket statements about Christianity that are not true for all Christians and make assumptions about me.
@kitsunegames wel nao ur jes taukin absauloot nauncinsakil rubish sou kwit troulin mi an groh aup ok kuz eym rili tyerd ov pritehndin ur naut incaumpatint an u no wat ur prolli jes a troul kryin undir ur rautin woudin brij!!!!!!!1!!
@kitsunegames a lot of people, even a lot of christians, think that to "follow Jesus" means to be christian, but in reality, it means to follow Jesus's teachings. anyone who strives to do good and be the best version of themselves that they can is doing exactly what God wants of them. he doesn't judge people based on titles like "christian" and "jewish," he judges them on their hearts and actions. God IS love and mercy and forgiveness and justice (and a hoard of other things)
@lolmymag Yes, a hoard of horrifying things best left unsaid to non-believers you hope to convert. Don't go thinking to critically about your beliefs though, you really risk becoming a non-believer again that way.
@kitsunegames um... wow, that comment was delightfully vague... now you're accusing christians of some conspiracy? i notice you don't know what those things might be, though
@lolmymag Conspiracy? No! Their exploits in deception are well documented.
And there you go thinking you're clairvoyant again. Just for you though: God IS Jealous, Wrathful, Murderous, Vengeful, Deceiving, and a Liar. Lamentations 3:38.
@kitsunegames i'm a little sensitive about people telling lies about my faith and depicting it so negatively. there's a quote, i forget who it's by, that says something like "nobody actually hates christianity. they only hate what they think it is." i know you're probably not saying untrue things on purpose, but that's why i'm taking so much time to try to explain. a lot of people have misconceptions, and i just figured you'd like to know the truth about it.
@lolmymag You're uneducated and ignorant on the subject so I'll let calling me a liar slip. Cute quote, but telling people how they feel is the height of arrogance. Go to any church or religious website however and they gladly tell you all about their little delusions. I spent 20+ years of my life as a devote Christian, I've attended well over a dozen churches, and I've read the bible cover to cover several times. I'm far from ignorant on the subject.
i wasn't telling you how you feel. you obviously hate what you think christianity is, and i'm not telling you that you don't. i'm telling you that you don't know what it really means to be christian because there's nothing to dislike about it. the only people who are sent to hell are the people who choose it through evil. i'm sure you're not saying you wish God would have taken hitler to heaven with him? i'd really believe you weren't ignorant, but you're wrong
@lolmymag Saying "Nobody actually hates.." is making a statement on how they feel, which is something they cannot and do not know, same with telling me what I think or what I know, you have no idea.
"i'm sure you're not saying you wish God would have taken hitler to heaven with him?" You're right, I'm not, I'm saying God is imaginary as is heaven and the contents within the compilation of books called the bible. And people take this myth so far as to let it divide them from humanity.
They do it in a joky way, but the religious-thing is a way to get more protection and rights from governments, because, as we all know, if you say it is a religion then people may not think it's crazy and therefore you get rights.
The idea of Kopimism comes across as clever if you know something about Swedisn laws on religion. In Sweden, a priest may not be heard in court about information that he's received during a confession (think Catholicism) or individual spiritual guidance. What Kopimism is trying to do is define operators (torrent trackers, DC hubs and such) as priesthood, and make people running such services legally unable to be heard in a trial. Quite clever indeed. Probably won't work in practice, however.
scientific theories are different from regular theories. In every day life, a theorie is what a hypothesis is in science, an idea with little or no suppoting evidence, but not disproved and possibly correct. A scientific theorie is a hypothesis with supporting evidence, that are able to both predict and explain what happens around us in a consistent manner. Examples of these are the big bang theory, evolutionary theory and gravity.
Great video. I heard about Kopimism on facebook a couple weeks ago, and thought exactly what you said, that they're just doing it as a joke and want to be able to download stuff for free. But this video totally changed my mind. Great points, really made me think.
@mime454 No because it doesn't give them any sort of religious exception. wikipedia it. Its not a loophole. You can have official religions that call for the murder and enslavement of peoples, just take christianity, Yet in America Murder and enslavement are clearly illegal.
@MrJim3x stars are very large balls hydrogen fusing into helium. When they reach the end of their life they can supernova and fuse all the other elements together herp a derp stars make new types of atoms
@bluemoon4900 You're forgetting the law of conservation of mass. Supernovas form new compounds from already-made atoms, not create new atoms altogether.
@MrJim3x NO, the early universe only had protons (H molecules) and electrons, fusion in stars was needed to combine the H into He and then fuse all the subsequent atoms into increasingly heavier types.
@MrJim3x Stars take atoms and mush them together to create bigger atoms. New stars take Hydrogen and make it Helium. Stars start making Iron later on in their life. Stars DO make atoms, but not in the way Dan implied.
I'm a pirate from sweden mate, and I've never heard of it. Can't really understand how you got your hands on this, but yeah. But swedes are generally really lollzy so I think you shouldn't take it too serious.. :p
sorry but i dissagree. why did adam and eve get the banhammer in the garden? from eating from the tree of information. it made them become aware of themselves and the world around them. religion doesnt want you to think for yourself, but to be a lemming sipping the kool aid.
Kopimism is dumb. It's just like what they did with marijuana: they wanted to make it legal, so they made a religion around it, and called it Rastafarianism. Now Kopimism is doing the same with piracy. It's a transparent scheme, and I don't like it one bit.

Thanks!
AdamTadz 1 month ago
@AdamTadz Opposing. Religion encourages groupthink, uncritically accepting that your group has the right answers while all other groups have the wrong answers, assuming they are special in receiving and understanding divine teachings they believe only their group will be saved while the rest of humanity is damned. When there are scriptural or sacramental arguments in a group we get splittings, or denominations. Religion is just another way to further divide us. It hasn't ended war.
kitsunegames 1 month ago
@kitsunegames i really wish people would stop assuming that to be religious means to think everyone who doesn't believe the things you do is damned. (i'm sorry i couldn't break up that sentence.) sure, maybe there are some religions that do believe that, but not all do and, i think, not even the majority.
lolmymag 1 month ago
@lolmymag I wasn't assuming, you could say it's a generalization, but the majority of the religious in the world are either Muslim or Christian, and both of these religions holy books say exactly that, and the majority of the denominations of these religions agree with their holy books on this point, though the methods for attaining salvation from damnation vary.
kitsunegames 1 month ago
@kitsunegames well i'm christian, i've been learning about my religion since before i started going to my christian school where i had religion class every weekday morning for ten years, and i've been going to mass at least once a week for the last eighteen years. obviously nobody's perfect, but i'm PRETTY positive, as in about 100% sure, that the bible doesn't say anywhere that non-christians are automatically going to hell. sooo get your facts straight.
lolmymag 1 month ago
@lolmymag Oh? Explain what you have to be saved from then. Explain why you need Jesus at all. Preachers/Priests and Imams have been preaching eternal damnation for generations, and continue to do so. Check out 2 Thessalonians 1:8–9, Mark 9:44–49, Matthew 25:41-46 just for starters.
kitsunegames 1 month ago
@kitsunegames people need Jesus to help them be better people. however, Jesus will help even people who aren't christian if they're living their lives the right way. i'm not saying eternal damnation doesn't exist, i'm saying it's reserved for those who do terrible things and are never sorry. first bible quote: i already explained this. people have to follow the gospel, but that means being a good person. they don't have to do it as a christian.
lolmymag 1 month ago
@kitsunegames second bible quote: yeah, sinners are gonna be sent to hell, but only if they sin realizing that what they did was wrong, and if they're not sorry for it. third bible quote: same thing. evil people go to hell, and the righteous go to heaven. it never says they have to label themselves as christians to be righteous
lolmymag 1 month ago
@kitsunegames basically, the bible does say that the way to heaven is through Christ, but that doesn't mean that you have to be christian to go to heaven. it means that you have to follow the things Jesus taught, like forgiveness, generosity, and humility. whether you do that as a christian, muslim, or athiest doesn't really matter.
lolmymag 1 month ago
@lolmymag Your belief is dependent upon which denomination you adhere to, ask a Calvinist and you will get a different answer complete with scripture to back up their opinions. And don't think it's limited to Calvinists, every denomination has opinions on how to be saved that may or may not agree with yours.
kitsunegames 1 month ago
@lolmymag The bible says a great many things, many of them conflicting, which is why there are so many denominations/divisions within Christianity. Jesus taught that he came to divide people, Luke 12:49. Jesus also says that he doesn't want to save the world, Mark 4:12. And the bible says what you believe in your life matters, John 6: 29, believing at the judgment is too late, Matthew 7:21-23.
kitsunegames 1 month ago
@kitsunegames PS - That's Luke 12:49-53.

kitsunegames 1 month ago
@kitsunegames how can you claim to know anything about christianity with that last quote?! the judgement is after you've already died, obviously. if you were never sorry during your life, then waiting until God tells you you're going to hell to apologize isn't being sorry, it's being terrified to face the consequences that you brought upon yourself. shoulda realized earlier you were just trolling me -__-
lolmymag 1 month ago
@lolmymag Why would anyone be sorry if they never knew they were wrong?? The whole point is that people think they have the right of it, they think they know the answers, just as you think you know the answers. AND YOU DON"T! Every denomination believes they know what is necessary to be saved, and they disagree with every other denomination. Are you still wearing your blinders, are you also deaf and dumb? You must be. Have fun uncritically accepting your faith honey.
kitsunegames 1 month ago
@kitsunegames if people truly believe they're doing the right thing, then they haven't done anything wrong, God understands, and they'll be welcomed into heaven with open arms. People have consciences, though. It doesn't take a genius to know right from wrong. what defines a "sin" is KNOWING full well that something is wrong and doing it anyway. you don't even know what a sin is, so i suggest you quit embarrassing yourself
lolmymag 1 month ago
@lolmymag "if people truly believe they're doing the right thing, then they haven't done anything wrong, God understands, and they'll be welcomed into heaven with open arms." And you know that how? Are you hearing voices in your head or do you have something to back that up with?
"you don't even know what a sin is" Still believe you can read minds I see. Telling me what I do or don't know. Go on living in fantasy land darling, the grown ups are busy.
kitsunegames 1 month ago

They are Christians too!
kitsunegames 1 month ago
@kitsunegames and i would REALLY like it if you'd stop calling me "darling" and "honey." i know it's very common for people to resort to patronizing name-calling when they feel they're losing, but there are better ways to let everyone know how insecure you are.
lolmymag 1 month ago
@lolmymag Correction: How annoyed I am at your inability to PAY ATTENTION. We are talking about the divisiveness of Religion, about how religions even argue internally and split off into denominations because they have disagreements about the details such as disagreement about scriptural interpretation and sacramental ritual. And you'd prefer to completely ignore that and make blanket statements about Christianity that are not true for all Christians and make assumptions about me.

God IS love and mercy and forgiveness and justice (and a hoard of other things)
lolmymag 1 month ago
@lolmymag Yes, a hoard of horrifying things best left unsaid to non-believers you hope to convert. Don't go thinking to critically about your beliefs though, you really risk becoming a non-believer again that way.
kitsunegames 1 month ago
@kitsunegames um... wow, that comment was delightfully vague... now you're accusing christians of some conspiracy? i notice you don't know what those things might be, though
lolmymag 1 month ago
@lolmymag Conspiracy? No! Their exploits in deception are well documented.
And there you go thinking you're clairvoyant again. Just for you though: God IS Jealous, Wrathful, Murderous, Vengeful, Deceiving, and a Liar. Lamentations 3:38.
kitsunegames 1 month ago
@kitsunegames i'm a little sensitive about people telling lies about my faith and depicting it so negatively. there's a quote, i forget who it's by, that says something like "nobody actually hates christianity. they only hate what they think it is." i know you're probably not saying untrue things on purpose, but that's why i'm taking so much time to try to explain. a lot of people have misconceptions, and i just figured you'd like to know the truth about it.
lolmymag 1 month ago
@lolmymag You're uneducated and ignorant on the subject so I'll let calling me a liar slip. Cute quote, but telling people how they feel is the height of arrogance. Go to any church or religious website however and they gladly tell you all about their little delusions. I spent 20+ years of my life as a devote Christian, I've attended well over a dozen churches, and I've read the bible cover to cover several times. I'm far from ignorant on the subject.
kitsunegames 1 month ago
i wasn't telling you how you feel. you obviously hate what you think christianity is, and i'm not telling you that you don't. i'm telling you that you don't know what it really means to be christian because there's nothing to dislike about it. the only people who are sent to hell are the people who choose it through evil. i'm sure you're not saying you wish God would have taken hitler to heaven with him? i'd really believe you weren't ignorant, but you're wrong
lolmymag 1 month ago
@lolmymag Saying "Nobody actually hates.." is making a statement on how they feel, which is something they cannot and do not know, same with telling me what I think or what I know, you have no idea.
"i'm sure you're not saying you wish God would have taken hitler to heaven with him?" You're right, I'm not, I'm saying God is imaginary as is heaven and the contents within the compilation of books called the bible. And people take this myth so far as to let it divide them from humanity.
