Striving for racial diversity in the courts: Does this assume people are being racist? If people are not being racist, then there is no need for striving for the the diversity, but striving to place honest, honorable people. I guess being from out west, & never seeing racial discrimination, it is hard to believe people might actually be that way in real life (not hollywood).

Sweeney said we need to make sure the court "looks like the state of New Jersey." We don't. We need to make sure they're competent, uphold the state constitution and uphold the rights of the people of New Jersey.
