  • bill o'reily's head is bigger :/

  • Sol is Sun right

  • @wazawaza010 Yes, Sol is Sun in latin countries, like my country, Brazil!

  • @wazawaza010 Wait, sorry, Sun is Sol, not Sol is Sun... haha

  • sol is Sun right?

  • VY Canis Majoris is Chuck Norris's campfire

  • Tellus what?!?!

  • what about Pistol Star

  • @wilmanrock345 How come Pistol Star is the only one without a greek name? lol

  • Sirius A is spelt wrongly.

  • @rainyday219 Spelt is wrong also.Past tense is spelled.Spelt isn't even a word.

  • no.its 7,000,000,000,000,000 times bigger than the earth

  • umm sorry but Tellus IS EARTH

  • @kylenjm EARTH is only the english name of our planet, stop thinking that you're the centre of the universe. You piss me off

  • According to my calculation it would take roughly 1,484,018,264 years on a plane trip to get to the opposite side of VY Canis Majoris.

  • @RossetaStoned91 no just 1000 years ;)

  • it isnt tellus is not english

  • mute music and play this one. Trust me. /watch?v=H2-1u8xvk54

  • I like the comparison between VY Canis Majoris, the biggest star in the universe, and Earth.

  • YES I'M BIG! >:C

  • I'm still big for a ant

  • he should have put it in english

  • @TheWarzonez That is in English.

  • VY Canis Majoris is 1,300,000,000,000,000 times bigger then Earth. Not 212,550 as you stated in your video.

  • Comment removed

  • @mbearden86 Actually, VY Canis Majoris is 212,550 times the DIAMETER of Earth, not the volume. But I guess he should have said diameter in the video.

  • Русская Русская Русская Русская Русская Русская Русская Русская Русская Русская Русская Русская Русская 3013

  • now i am not afraid to die.....

  • Very well made. :)

  • why does u call tellus

  • Tellus IS NOT Earth!

  • @ForzaMotorSportFTW Tellus the real name

  • best one ever!

  • this is so cool cus it can help with stuff just love how it shows the stars that we cant see

  • 4:17 more than 1 billion earths could fit into the "o" in "majoris"!

  • I hate that they called Earth, Tellus. Who calls it that?

  • i never said i was big. jupiter did

  • wher did saturns rings go I thought it was jupiter

  • Tellus = Earth.

  • Thank you to everyone who commented on which country they're in, but it seems YouTube has now made it so that my video is only blocked in Germany. Don't ask me why, though. I have no clue.

  • @rawen100 its because of this music it outlawd in germany

  • The Netherlands and this vid is wonderful!

  • @kimmetje1976 Naw, thank you so much!

  • Why are there so many video like this on YouTube? Is it some kind of standard project for computer modeling or something?

  • @CoolandDesign Not really, it's just a fun way of playing with texturing, scales and rendering. I think that's the appeal.

  • wow

  • usa, not blocked here

  • I'm huge! Quarks and Leptons are as nothing compared to my mass!

  • With what software did you make this? Celestia? if so what add-on?

    Im from... well.. Holland :P

  • @Hollander113 I used 3Ds Max 9 for this one. No add-ons that I remember. Thanks for letting me know!

  • @yelloduckie05 how do you copy and paste?????

  • Thumbs up if you skipped to 2:21 and watched the whole vid from there!

  • @Nugwrangler Haha, really? Myself I usually start skipping from there and on. That non-stop "zooming" is pretty boring and takes forever. :P

  • im watching and im in uk

  • the title make me big because i know my size

  • United States of America. I never knew we were that small. We are like bugs or atoms.

  • Thumbs Up if you skipped forward during the zooming out of VY Canis Majoris

  • @zabaedeen1 Thumbsed up! That's a really boring part, but I feel it really demonstrates how huge that star really is.

  • Australia. And this is an awesome video.

  • @BudCharles999 Thanks, dude. Much appreciated.

  • My wife thinks I am ;)

  • Tellus is just earth in another language... loltards.

  • Can you imagine if Canis Majoris was right next to Earth like in the video? It would cover the entire sky!!

  • @ChrisSmiley22 We would also be fried to smithereens if that was the case lol

  • @zabaedeen1 True...

  • @ChrisSmiley22 If it was, the Earth would most likely be torn apart by the vast gravitational forces.

  • @rawen100 ... No, VY Canis Majoris is many more than 200,000 times larger than earth. Not sure where u got that # from, and not saying in what unit, but It's big enough that if it were our sun, the star itself would extend past Jupiter. If the two were to instantly switch places, there would be no 'gravitational forces' so to speak. Humans would be instantly vaporized by is astronomically hotter temperature, the entire Earth would melt in perhaps less than a second,

  • @rawen100

If Canis Majoris was right next to Earth, it would burn up Mercury, venus, Mars, Jupiter, the Sun itself, and ourselves. The star alone is bigger than half the solar system.

  • @alagodny28 Tellus is from Latin and it means "Earth"

  • Why Did You Type Tell us ?

  • WOW!!! I feel so small smaller than a little piece of lid omfg

  • I agree with the title!

  • oh hi there chuck norris planet... howcome something so huge goes unoticed to the naked eye >.<

  • tellus is earth right?

  • @vamponular01 Indeed it is.

  • @vamponular01 yes, obviously..

  • SIZE MATTER NOT!

  • I kind of like it.But where's tres-4?

  • What is Tellus? scientific name for Earth?

  • All you have to do now is compare VY Canis Majoris to the entire universe

  • In the grander universal scale I am small indeed, but still I remain the center of my own universe!!

    Timothy

    :o)

  • This video does not give any information to me. I am much bigger then all of it combined!!!

  • is this quarshi?

  • where is sedna

  • Quality video.

  • Better phrase for the ending : You are a beyond atom-sized thing compared to this gargantuan thing that imgaination cannot even explain.

  • This is amazing! I like how you included the dwarf planets :D

Btw, @ a previous comment: R136a1 is actually smaller than VY CMa, it's just more massive.

  • @ZukutoBTD Oh, I wondered about that. I noticed that they never mentioned the diameter, only the mass. Haven't gotten around to check it yet. :P

    And thanks! :D

  • @100jokes

r136a1 isn't even bigger than Rigel.

  • love it.kewl vid and really kewl song

  • So... If "VY Canis Majoris will F*CKING EXPLODE!!!!! We ALL are will be F*CKING F*CKED UP TO THE F*CKING HELLs HELLs F*CKING HELL OF F*CK!!!!!!!!!

  • @1Nekit1 Who's to say it hasn't blown up already, we won't know until 4,900 years after it happens. ( 4900 light-years means that the light you see has been travelling to you for 4900 years!)

  • @brotherbandit After `4900years after "BOOM!!!" shock wave "paunch" to Earth will be small, right??? But if this star is SO BIG (!) `4900 light years isn`t too much i guess XD...

  • @brotherbandit Imagine the Black Hole of VY Canis Majors! It`s may send a LOT of stars nearby RIGHT IN HELL... or whatever you call it! (LOL) But Earth isn`t gonna be "sucked" - i`m shure...

  • Luna = Earth Moon

    Ceres = Asteroid

Venus = 900-degree Farenheit hot spot

  • Sirius A is NOT blue! Sirius B is blue.

  • Comment removed

  • You forgot r136a1 HEHE

  • @100jokes Yeah, I got really mad when they discovered that one. :P

Have to make a new video soon showcasing that one as well.

  • would have been a better video if not for the music.

  • what's Siruis A?

  • @lmc6506 The largest star in the Sirius binary star system.

  • @rawen100 also the brightest star

  • Comment removed

  • @lmc6506 The most Sirius of all the stars hahahahaha

  • haumena..haumena..haumena......

  • very good. but why is the earth 'tellus'?

  • @lmc6506 Tellus is earth's Greek name, which the Romans redubbed as "terra".

  • sirius is white

  • antares is bigger they betelgeuse

  • @WarcrafterOwlli no its not. the latest 2009-2010 measurements confirmed that betelgeuse is smaller than antares. get out of 2007, buddy. we're not there anymore

  • this is just mind boggling! I cant even comprehend it!

  • What software did you use to make this, it's great!

  • @Neutrinoghost Thanks. I used 3Ds Max 9, but that cost quite a deal. The free program Blender should do the trick as well.

  • Earth=kinda big(compared to a human). Sun=big. Rigel=huge Betelgeuse=wow. VY Canis Majoris= OH MY GOD!!!!

  • @PrjctNvdrZm That's the message I'm trying to get across. ;)

  • @PrjctNvdrZm r136a1 OH MY OH MY NOTHING TO SAY

  • @PrjctNvdrZm Yes, our heavenly father is awsome!

  • whats the name of this song? its badass!

  • @ronny4ever123 Wake up - Rage Against The Machine

  • @rawen100 lol thanks! I just put it in a video of mine about evolution. come check it out if u want. :)

  • why is earth called tellus?

  • @haycm001 All the planets are named after Roman Gods and Goddesses, the Earth is no different. It's Roman Goddess name is Tellus.
