  • Loved Jay Silverhills!

  • Hi~Ho Silver~!

  • That was some mean guitar playing.

  • Poor Glen! How long before Alzheimer's causes him to forget how to play guitar. But your fans will never forget. God bles, Glen.

  • yeah

  • Bautifull

    Thank You !

  • He can't mount a horse, but he sure can play a guitar!

  • Dang ranger, gotta stay on the horse!

  • My husband & I got to see Glen play this when he came home to Arkansas a few years ago & his cousin (a friend of our's) invited us over to hear Glen & everyone jam. The whole family is musically gifted. What you do not see on this video is Glen playing this song on the guitar BEHIND HIS HEAD....FAST! Unbelievable. His cousin told us that Roy Clark told him that Glen was the best guitarist he'd ever seen. This was just a few years ago so Glen was a lot older than in this video from 1991.

  • That is one GOOD NATURED horse!

  • Just had to hit the out house..great job.

  • Gene Autry.....miss that man.

  • By the time he gets to Phoenix, that horse will be laughing his ass off.

  • @basserase Clever ! >>. blending that Glenn Campbell song title into your reply >>.Nice !

  • I have never seen an Ovation guitar like the one he's playing- any idea as to the model? Thanks!

  • Absolutely fantastic! Great job, Glenn!

  • How dear you take the piss out of the Lone Ranger Shame on you ! Hi Yo Siiiiiiiiilver Awaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyy .

  • I've heard the 1977 version of this song, and I found it hard to believe that a then-41 year old man could pick this fast. What an awesome version!

  • Ahh, okie dokie... Thanks a bunch. :)

  • It's possible this video was made in 1961 or maybe 1971, but I very seriously doubt it was made in 1991.

  • @michaelmohrmann I ought to know when it was made- I EDITED IT. No, the cowboy movie was made in the 40's, the clips of Glen on horseback was from the 70's, but the footage of him playing the guitar, and the video compilation, was made in 1991.

  • @dsimpson41 @ michaelmohrmann AMAZINGly witty, hilarious, well filmed and edited parody epitome of The Lone Ranger franchise. Its film elements -- the opening 20 seconds are a typical posse scene from a 1940s Western? And then we see GLEN CAMPBELL himSELF? as the extra-tall cowboy who falls off his horse, then remounts from the rear? EQUESTRIAN VIRTUOSITY! Who knew? And then we see the original tv series (1949-1957) and/or film stars, LR (Clayton Moore) and Tonto (Jay Silverheels)?

  • @michaelmohrmann

as far as I know, it was made in 1976, cuz' it appears in chart of hits from 1977.

  • Good god!! I still have that 45! I must now go the closet and dig it up,that is version I wanted to hear,I was 15 at the time and played the hell out of the B side. Can't belive I forgot about my 45's,alas,no stylus in the turntable. who listens to records anymore Thanks romeokid I am on a quest

  • Glen Campbell continues to AWE and inspire. His will be a living legacy to the instrument. His left and right hand plectrum technique is incredible. I believe history will compare him to John Martell and Harry Volpe two unsung virtuosos of the thirties. Glenn please pick up the Gibson HD6X digital, we are waiting!!!!

  • I think it's the ghost of Jay Silverheels,or else his stunt double!!!

  • Jay Silverheels passed away in 1980. How did make this video in 1991?

  • great song

  • He makes six strings sound like twelve.

  • He played this song an a twelve-strings guitar on a consert

  • Buena parodia a la mejor composición de toda toda la historia además en una situación muy adecuada. Pásame la partitura, si puede ser para oboe y piano o bien en tu versión, camarada.

  • Glen Campbell Is an outstanding guitarist ... his roots go way back to Tequila with the champs & his own band called The Darts...I never get tired of his music. 5 stars

  • In 2:20

    RUN! GLEN, RUN!!!

  • have the 1977 b-side just not set up to dub anything between formats right now

  • That's Glen and JAY SILVERHEELS at the ending!!!

  • If you really want to hear how genius of a player Glen is, listen to the 1977 version of this. If you have the 45rpm of Southern Nights, it is the b-side. That version is much better than this one or the other lame one here on youtube

  • This version on YouTube isn't bad. Not at all.

But yeah, I know what you're saying about the '77 B-Side of Southern Nights. I played that almost as much as I did the A side, probably more so, back in the days.

Its gotta be floating around somewhere out there. Occamrazor1972 says he has the B-Side.

  • @romeokid69 I agree

  • This is FUN with a capital F! Not only does Glen Campbell have a great voice, he also plays a mean guitar. Thanks for uploading this.

  • Does anyone have the 1977 b-side of Southern Nights recording of this. This isn't it and neither are any of the others on here.

  • 0.44 loool

  • Who was that "Masked Man"?

    Funny indeed! Great video! Thanks!

  • Glen is a true "super picker"!

  • Glen as Lone Ranger, Jay Silver heels as Tonto... and of course Glen (Fingers) Campbell on the string machine!

  • I love how the Ranger keeps falling off the horse... XD XD XOD

  • A few years ago VH1 did a countdown show with what it considered the top 100 records of all time. Glen Campbell either played or sang on 17 of them.

  • I like the shot that begins at 1:48!

  • In the late 60s and early 70s a band called "The Los Angeles Philharmonic Love and Dance Band" did a great version. Sure wish I could find it. It was on a 45 vinyl.

  • I've seen G.C. do this in concert yeras ago. A show stopper! He also did lead guitar for some of Elvis' movie tunes such as 'Viva Las Vegas'.

  • "Alot of people don't realize how truly gifted a guitar player glen really is"

  • Sounds like a 12-string although he is pictured with a 6-string. Nevertheless, awesome!

  • Being a 12-string player, seeing Glen perform WTO on 12 string would have been even more spectacular.

  • RIDIN SPINNAZ

  • Glen Campbell is Great! I saw him play at the Hollywood Bowl years ago at a 4th of July show, it really was a good time..!

I did a version of "William Tell Overture" as well (a bit more on the hard rock side of things, but still fun)... take a look if you get some time :)

  • Great stuff! Glen is a fine musician and a true survivor who deserves major respect for his talent! Glen looks like he had fun with this! Thanks for posting this.

  • Excellent and fun! Looks like Glen wa having fun with this. Glen Campbell is a real top drawer player, started his career as a session player, worked with the Beach Boys, lots of hits to his own credit and deserves major respect for his talent and for still hamging in there

  • THIS ROOOCKS SOOO HARD!! XD YEAAAH!!

  • simpatica versione!!

  • lolololololololololololololololololol!!!!!!!!!!

  • I knew someone who could pick like that. Campbell makes it look almost easy.

  • awesome guitar pickin !!! Hi HO Silver !!!

  • This is the theme to "The Lone Ranger".Glen Campbell does a good job with it instrumentally.

  • I liked it.

  • Glen Campbell is ROCKNROLL-!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Good! - did ya see Jay Silverheels at the end? :-)

  • funny!
