When you are on precentral, click on apps but select the HOW TO INSTALL HOMEBREW LINK.
follow those steps after that. You will need to download webos doctor and have java 1.5 or higher installed. When you run quickinstall for the first time it will install webos doctor for you. so after that, wait for it to install the palm novacolm driver. After that completes, then you put your phone into dev mode, run webos quickinstall and install preware. Your good to go from then on.
this can't zoom, and you cant see what your actually filming yet but it works. This just proves to pre users and to iphone fools from the iphone 3g that you dont need hardware upgrades to do video. The iPhone 3g can do video no problem.. dont let apple know that you know that though.. they will cut your balls off. lol
I understand the odd format since this is a proof of concept, but I hope it becomes something a bit more friendly eventually.
Also, it's not an app from Palm, it's a homebrew hack. Excellent work. I hope Palm adds this functionality officially soon. Maybe with this release they'll have a little more incentive.
Ok i got it working. I first installed the packages for the video and the test app and then i hit on and record, that worked. Then i tried a few other buttons and the next few videos recorded crash nero. I can only get the vids to run as mp4 in nero. HOpe this helps somebody
