i love your videos bud. its a blast from the past. i wish things were the same as they were back in the day. the feeling of riding to a call balls to the wall in a freezing blizzard on the back tail board is un describable. purely undescribable..
You mentioned the rig was underpowered. I remmeber as a kid a company near me had a '65 Ford C-Series/Bruco Heavy Rescue that had a 360 V-8 gas and the same could be said for that rig too. Another company near me had an identical rig with a 534 and that had A LOT more guts. Both unfortunately have long since been retired.
Cool.....There`s the exact same engine still in service in Durand MI. We have a post at their station. That`s one really cool, really old truck. It`s their second out engine.......lol......Well, they only have 2...It`s a small city, all they cover is the Village itself..
can't even imagine how many guys got hurt riding tailboard, but it still looks badass

Are you sure? Because that engine Durand has is an Ford/FMC instead of a Ford/ALF.
