  • And a huge solar flare comes and knocks out all of our electronics and society reverts back to the dark ages......I'll put my money on a four legged horse anyway!

  • The price is steep but consider the benefits. Aside from excellent savings on gas, the electric engine is virtually maintenance-free. Transmission is also much simpler because electric engines can easily handle 20k rpm (unlike gas engines which blow up at around 8k rpm), so less transmission headaches.

I really hope they get it right this time because I'm very disappointed with GM otherwise.

  • who can afford $45K on an unproven car ?

this car is for the few rich who could care less what the price of gallon of gas

  • No good

    too expensive

The economy is falling off a cliff

you need hybrid and no more than $12,000 US

    TATA are you listening

  • As with any new high demand item, cost will be high initially, and will drop as it gets further into mass production.

The US is offering a $7,500 tax deduction for this car. If we start seeing $4/gal gas again, and if this car is released at around $35,000, it may very well be cheaper in the long run than a $15,000 gas car. Electricity gives you more miles per dollar. It's just a question of at what point does the fuel cost savings justify the higher inititial purchase price.

  • Thank you California for requiring the manufacture of zero emission cars in 2003 which forced GM and Toyota to prove that the plug-in car is viable today!
