@pinkpunkykat - While I love reptiles, under Federal law, only people with disabilities with service dogs have public access rights as only dogs are recognized as service animals. Thought you'd like to know. Good luck! : )
@Purrpussful Most people know me here in this little town and ask to pet her more than they do to see the letter from the doctor. I've taken her into grocery stores, restaurants and basicaly every where I go. I've never flown with her, but I doubt I would have problems with her. I was looking into having a little vest made for her but I don't really need one.
I am supporting you in your fight. I to have a service dog I use for psychiatric reasons. It's amazing what people will say against people with service dogs, especially if they are not blind or deaf. I can't believe how much information you had to share. Oh by the way I lived in Vermont for 5 years, I live out in CA now but that is awesome your in VT, it's an awesome state!!!
You are a complete inspiration to everyone who uses and/or wants to use an PSD. I am looking in to getting a PSD for a disability. I love your videos, keep it up!
Thank you for this video. Thank you for shining a light on this injustice and bigotry. We have to stand up for each other. Have just posted about this discrimination on Save Our Service Animals to help get the message out.
@like2knowmore Thinking about this much, networking for the cause of Psychiatric Service Dogs is difficult, but worth it. We too are going to join PSDS. Any words of hope for the cause of Psych Dog Teams everywhere?
I feel for you. We have championed our Psychiatric Service Team for over 6 years now and we encounter discimination all of the time and it becomes disheartening. I'm trying to champion the cause for others, side by side with my PSD. Fight the good fight because "that which doesn't kill you makes you stronger".
Couldn't the dog just curl up next to you in the next seat or sit on your lap if s/he she is a little dog? The airline is being rediculious. My lizard prevents panic attacks but I'm looking into getting a dog or something else of the mamalian variety becuase being a cold blooded creature, she needs so many hours of exposure to heat and special lights.
Thanks for making this video! We are losing more civil rights all the time and it's as though people don't see it. Not only do I use a psychiatric service dog, she's a Staffordshire Bull Terrier (pit bull type dog), so it's really an uphill fight! But, she's the sweetest and most helpful dog ever! Judge each person/dog on their own merits, not on myths, superstitions, or outdated ideas. Good for you and thanks for the video!
