Yunan is one of the various eastern versions of the word Ionas!

the proper word is actually yavan,and there is still ionion tribes who haven't completely changed there ways to the ottomon colture and religion in trabzon north turkey that still speak in a old dielect of greek.they still follow some of the old festivals and call god by the name zeuw and beleive alexander to be the son of god.

the proper word is ΙΩΝΑΣ all the rest are translations in other languages, ΙΩΝΑΣ is the original Greek word!

At some point of history, somebody changed the course of the events...After the Greek Civil War, thousands of greek and ethnic macedonians fled Greece. Many( most of them children) were evacuated to Romania. This group of children would go on to form the recognised minority group of Macedonians in Romania. But The Association of Macedonians in Romania is called Друштвото на Македонците во Романија...it doesn't looks like greek..

@rockfellia Slavomacedonians and Grekomacedonians are different, slavomacedonians are people from Fyrom and they are slavs. It's not fair to call them macedonians when exist to different groups of people with this name.

I am grekomacedonian and i am accept this name, we the grekomacedonians are descents from ancient macedonians when fyromians(slavomacedonians) are descents from slavs who came here thousand years after Alexander.

@rockfellia Yeah, they are slavs and not greek macedonians. I don't know why they don't accept their slavic origin, slavs are great people. History is history and everyone must respect it, they are slavs and they must accept it.

They are slavs of Bulgarian origin not ethnic Macedonians. There was no ethnic Macedonian before 1944, Tito started this myth in order to avoid Bulgaria's expansiinist plans and to use this fake nationality in order to advance territorial aspirations against the real Macedonian land of Greece.

These people are slavs and not greeks, so they are not macedonians.

Don't call them macedonians and steal the history
