@carbonatedturd But HD projector lamps have limited number of hours before they burn out and they are extremely expensive to replace. That is why I said projectors are not suitable for regular TV watching for extended periods as the lamp will burn out fast.

If I had a projector (and I am planning to buy soon) I would mostly use it to watch movies and sports ;)

@madascene99, That's true, but you can't always trust them when they tell you what the life of the bulb is. Mine was supposed to last 3000 hours, and I'm very close to 5000. I've used it for several hours a day almost every day for over 2 years, and I probably left it on a lot when I wasn't watching. It's about 200 bucks to replace the bulb, and if I only have to do that every 3 years it's still well worth it for the money I'm saving by not buying a TV.
