  • thats a very good solution 2 playing the accordion to keep the mellody! Great job! good voice 5/5

  • goooood

  • Ты умница!

  • Interesting translation.

"He will show us gratuitous film"

This means the film will possibly contain excessive sex and violence.

Better to translate it as "free film".

Your version is really cute, nonetheless.

  • @dolgorukas not quite. it is used slightly differently even in the 'gratuitous scene' sense, not to mention that this is a CHILDREN's song, not to mention the original, not slang, meaning ))) if you censor all songs/literature etc for words that could have double meaning for the modern internet porn crazed morons.... at least don't bring it here. this song means a lot to a great number of people

  • Cartman, if you ask an American or English person if it's ok to show their children a gratuitous film, they will understand this in only one way.

Nobody uses the word "gratuitous" to mean "free" anymore. It has nothing to do with slang, double meaning, or porn crazed morons. It is simply a fact of modern English usage. You may not like it, but that's the way the language works.

I pointed this out originally not as a negative criticism, but to suggest a more appropriate translation.

  • @dolgorukas can you suggest a better translation that could be sung to this tune? this thing is practically classic, just as you wouldn't correct some archaic words in classic poetry, you probably shouldn't be too hard on this song either. I realize that this thing is not on par with milton, but u probably know what I mean. btw, 'gratuity' is still a tip in your world? ;)

  • Cartman, if you want a more appropriate translation how about:

"He will show us a movie for free."

That scans, and keeps the original meaning.

As you pointed out gratuity does mean tip. It has the same root as gratuitous. But lots of words in English have similar roots but diverse meanings.

  • @dolgorukas I agree that 'g.f.' has certain connotations and I even agree that it might be a good idea to replace it. I, however, think that this song's target audience is fine with it as it is and that the people who can't cut past the above mentioned connotations are better off watching barney. You're absolutely right that I don't like when some things become mainstream but that's not even my main objection )))

  • @dolgorukas

Listen you piece of shit; Post a better one and then come here comment on everything. I don't know if you people in lithuania do everything accordingly but Just _cuking enjoy it!

  • Thank you very much for that beautiful translation,i know that song since i was a child. I love it!!!!

  • С днём рождения, Мишка!

  • I can understand almost 40% when she is singing in Yakut it is similar with Uygur language.

Long live for Yakut brothers. She is so sweet nice

  • I like it. Especially in yr language. Sounds like Kazakh language.

  • Cheburashka is not the species name, it is a very old Russian saying because the creature he names Cheburashka keeps falling over. It is derived from cheburakhnulas (fallen over).

  • Greetings from England and Russia Amazing voice!!!!

  • 嘩﹗你很吊呀~ 懂很多語言 ~_~

  • Sakha variant - namnogo luchshe, konechno. Molodets! :D

  • :)

Это не американское произношение...(не австралийское, не канадское, не гонконгское и не британское, тем более)...оно у меня свое - мягкое якутское, что отличает меня от других...язык - это всего лишь средство коммуникации, главное то, что внутри человека!;)

  • Lovely voice! Красивый голос! Jolie voix! Совершенно в полном восторге от версии на якутском, исключительно! Через голос слышна душа. Очень хочется познакомиться - я из США, как я понимаю вы здесь бываете - очень хочется услышать еще ваши песни! Я в восторге!

  • Да вы же наверное такой же настоящий англичанин, как тот специалист, который приехал за забугор и молил Бога заговорить по английски, так же хорошо как кавказцы на московских рынках.

  • @celteuskara as a "nastoyaschy" American, I can assure you that, as Mira says her accent is indeed unique, i nichem ne pohozh na amerikansckie aktsenty, kotorye mne tak znakomy. А вы знаете что меня больше интересует? Якутская версия этой песеньки. Мне это очень-очень понравилось.

  • очень хорошо :-)

  • молодец!

  • "Men oynarman garmoshkada ....... tugilgan kun yilda bir bolar" it is in uzbek, somehow similar to yakut,

  • Yakut language belongs to Turkich group, I am uzbek, for the time I am hearing yakut, some words are the same in my and other turkich languages, it is definatelly not chinese,

  • She looks like NE chinese

  • Omiiij, zhaquttar tim ele ezesinger go Genanyn yrlaryn yrdap.

    Qyrgyzcha da yrdaganyn bilem!

  • 5******

    klass

  • She does not sing it in Russian. That's Yakutian. Yakutian is a Turkic Siberian language of the Altaic language family. It just uses a modified version of the Cyrillic alphabet.

  • Eto pravil'no!

  • красивый голос, английская версия понравилась.

  • а другую я опознать не смог =)

  • her Yakut singing contained 2 things: it written in russian alphabets but it sound like chinese

  • it deffinetely DOESN'T sound like chinese! not the slightest bit close to it!

  • kinda in my way of hearing it.

  • well, you're wrong. it sounds more like turkish

  • perhaps that is ur hearing...but mine say it kinda chinese.

  • First, my hearing is quite trained, because i've studied mandarin for three years. Second, if YOUR hearing says it's chinese - fine, but then instead of saying "it sounds like chinese" you should probably say "TO ME it sounds like chinese". You know, so you won't confuse anyone.

  • I'm not sure. I've studied Russian for a few years, lived in Taibei for a year, and it sounds closer to Swedish or Finnish to me. 那個怒海唱歌得很好。。。

  • Maybe. I've heard that Uralic and Altaic languages do share some phonological similarities.

  • this is so sweet. Sounds just as great as it sounds in russian.

  • they are part of Russian family tree

  • She IS singing in english.

  • am talking about when she sang in Yakut

  • oh I was talking about when she sang in English.

  • The girls are part of russian family tree or Yakut language itself?

  • technically Yakut are a part from the Turks but to its language it take the cyllic letters

  • Very nice voice. The English translation could use some work as the English sounds a bit broken, and forced, but otherwise very sweet. C

  • Plivet. Pesnia o4en' krasiivaja. A t' v Kitae?

  • very nice. so cute. :)

  • Молодец! Прекрасно поёшь! У тебя замечательный английский и очень милый якутский :)
