Maybe 15 years ago I heard a bunch of young Macedonian musicians play folk music at a Macedonian wedding. They played the traditional songs but with modern instruments..keyboards, bass, sax. I spoke to them and I said, you have a unique sound, you can take it further, to a new level, like the Irish Riverdance. I don't think they understood. But since those days, there has been an explosion of sounds coming from the Balkans, particularly the Macedonian end. All great.
This is on his CD tiled Krushevo. It was recorded inside the Krushevo Republic monument in Macedonia. He entreed the monument one day, he clapped his hands and felt it was accoustcally perfect. He decided he must record there. And he did with Tadic and one other guitarist from the USA. Krushevo is a landmark. This song is on it.
