Always make sure you've lowered the volume before listening to this song. Especially if it's 4 in the morning.....your ears will bleed....you will be scared.
Bro...Diru has so many different genre's that you can't even compare Manson to Diru. Besides who the fuck cares about Manson when they are listening to the god band that is Dir en grey. <3
dir en grey is like listening 2 a story of life but in song (not meaning in a rude way). The beats realy help bring out the message, and the vocalist kyo screams or sings songs that would bring a criminal 2 tears. i hope they make more music like they have been.
@thebleeding676 A. Manson is a very smart guy, B. to totally different types of music, manson is very religon and political based. Not dissing DEG in the slightest just manson is a very good artist in his own right.
@thebleeding676 Manson started 11 years before DEG, if anything they were massive in Japan whilst DEG were still young, id be very surprised if Mason and those others bands at that time had no influence on there style of music.
@Biggadeebadger87 actually diru's influences came from the deftones, nine inch nails, pantera ,radiohead, the smashing pumkins, tool and even muse, manson just got noticed by his shock value, dir en grey is noticed from thier musical talent
@Biggadeebadger87 Just because Manson was/is popular doesn't mean he had any influence on Dir en grey.
Musically I don't see anything you can say is very similar, and the only possible influence I see that he might have had on them is the costumes and contacts Kyo sometimes wears, but it's not like Manson INVENTED theatrics.
Plus, Manson is mostly alternative. Dir en grey is more heavy. Basically not even the same genre of music.
@Biggadeebadger87 Not to blindside you, but Dir en Grey do dabble in religion and politics, too. Maybe not in exactly the same way as Manson, but the connection is undoubtedly there. In fact, it can be argued that their sociological and psychological core is a more broad and generalized category that includes religion and politics within its scope, which explains why some of their songs are about these topics.

I stayed the night at my friends' house once, and this was her alarm clock song... on stereo... very loud... I wasn't aware it was the alarm... or that an alarm existed.... needless to say, I think I peed her floor a little. Don't get me wrong, it's a good song, but I prefer knowing when it's going to play cranked up to11 at 7am. To make things better, my friend didn't wake up. I had never woken so suddenly in my life before.
oh my i dont hate the play button but i just gotta have to gangbang it again and again. This song is just damn sex to my ears! listened to this 100 + times now!
this has to be one of the best dir en grey songs vocal wise what amazes me is how easily kyo could switch from sounding like an opera singer to going into a full on scream
This is absolutely my favorite Dir en grey song. Some people find it starnge that it is my favorite, but I have my reasons. I just loves everything about it..Shinya's drumming, the clearness of Toshiya's bass, and especially that guitar towards the end. Kaoru and Die are BEAST! in a good way...lolz...and Kyo is just awesome in general. I really want to see Dir en grey live before I die...
it gave me goosebumps the first second i heard Kyo's voice, now 100000 times later... it still gives me goosebumps. KYO<3<3<3 there will never be another artist, as pure, as amazing... as he is.
this is my fav song in the world and its my theme song too lol and to the 4 people that missed the like button its ok i forgive u and if u do it again ill rip out ur vocal cords and wrap it around ur neck and let u bleed to death in the name of dir en grey
What I love about Dir en grey is that they don't do anything to sound "badass" or to appeal to a wider audience. Simply put, their music is the manifestation of their feelings. Naturally, people are intrigued by and drawn to the raw emotion.
@KawaiMusume Haha lucky ;P I met them once at a meet and greet...even those few minutes of handshaking and exchanging greetings were fucking amazing. xD
i cant get this asome song out of my head even in school. one time i was singing to myself in class and i just jump out of my chair and im jumpin all over te place singing the lyrics
Kyo has unique vocals. He can scream, growl, squeal, and make outlandish sounds that sound so awesome. Unlike other artists. Not an insult, but a compliment to Dir En Grey
Not only does he have the voice, but he also has the skill of acting, his lyrics are pretty in-depth and take a lot of thought to even figure out, let alone write, but in addition to all this, he has the gorgeous looks. ^_^
@THEREALMOSH2 I feel that Kyo has lost some of his singing ability and it's most likely because of all the screaming. So I don't think it would be possible to find someone that is perfect at both. Kyo is probably the closest though.
@NoelKilledZombie oh now I understand what you mean. Actually I think mike patton is probably closer because his voice hasn't degrade one bit, but that's overall singing and screaming. Just screaming wise Kyo easily beats him.
@THEREALMOSH2 I'm kind of hopeful because Kyo seems to have taken an added interest in performing better at lives. Before he'd always go batshit on stage, but he's more reserved now, as if he's doing his best to sound good. I hope his voice lasts :( I'd be heartbroken without Diru. I've been a fan for 10 years now :)
@NoelKilledZombie I highly doubt he'll ruin his to much, if he's been screaming like that for this long now, and some of the budokan performances were the best I've seen of those songs
@pilotamurorei Freddie Mercury did rock. Kyo does metal. yes metal had its roots in rock but its evolved into its own genre. comparing Kyo to Freddie is like comparing Britney Spears to Eminem. two completely different genres. Britney couldn't do rap just as Eminem couldn't do pop and have it sound the same. Yes Freddie was a fantastic vocalist but I doubt he'd be able to do metal as well as other metal vocalists
...hey,I just realized I'm a Diru fan for six years already...wow! the first melody I listened was Obscure and even now I love that melody to death!Just 10 minutes earlier I watched one of their first melodies and their are SO different..both style and music! But,damn it,if they aren't still the best band I ever listened!...still my favorite and always will be!
ha first song i heard by them was obscure as well. at first i was like what the fuck is this? but then i got into their sound, its amazing how far their songs range from. they are one of the few bands who vary their sound and are able to pull it off.
*laughs* actually I was grinning like mad when I watched Obscure.I was hocked on Dir en Grey from the start...Kyo is too good live *sighs*...I wish to see them live...
Okay, I'm not looking to get in any fights here, but here's the thing. I love all of Dir en grey's albums. It took me a while to warm up to their newer stuff, but Deg is above all else an acquired taste so that's not so surprising.
But you really display your lack of faith in them to say that they're trying to be "trendy" because it's just not true. The only thing that has never changed with them is their honestly. They don't make music for anyone but themselves. Read some of Kyo's interviews.
Sorry, that was abrupt, I ran out of space. If you get the chance to read some of Kyo's interviews (many are translated on livejournal) do that, because in one memorable quote he basically says he'd rather play to an audience of 20 than participate in making music that he doesn't feel (even if that would get a larger crowd). So it really just bugs me when people act like they're selling out. Because they aren't.
I can see how that would bother you. That isn't exactly what you said but when you put it that way, now I can better understand what you mean.
Personally, however, I can't understand why you feel that way because I've met very few fake Dir en grey fans. I am very lucky in that, I think. But I'm glad to hear you don't find the band to be trendy. :)
I also consider them my favorite band, and much more.
Uroboros is one of my least fav albums..its just alot of screaming and some of the same beats...all the songs are good just not as good as wtd or moab.
Listen to it again. (As with all Deg albums, right? Haha.)
Definitely pay close attention to the rhythm work in Red Soil. Oh my gosh. It's phenomenal. If I pay attention too closely I get a bit of a headache, haha, 'cause it's kind of disconcerting. But in a good way. :)
ugh i wish everyone would stop talking about how they saw deg live...i'm soo jealous >.> when they came here, i was scared of them lol...but not anymore XD
Definitely one of their best CD's! They have improved alot! More of my style of music! Back then it was more rock/metal and indie, but now it's like hard metal and progressive, which is sexy. <3
never been into dir en grey but hear of them in almost every issue of every mag i buy, never bothered to check them prperly...but saw them on the kerrang tour last nite in liverpool and they destroyed!! this song was amazing!!!
Dir en Grey is the best band I've ever heard.
The songlyrics are so fantastic, espectially the screams and sounds Kyo makes.
The songs are touching me.
I feel their music.

*laughs* actually I was grinning like mad when I watched Obscure.I was hocked on Dir en Grey from the start...Kyo is too good live *sighs*...I wish to see them live...

diru never had a real genre they always experimeted wit new stuff! i dnt think they r tryin 2 get trendy!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Clearly none of you listen to their old albums.
God, Diru is now becoming another trendy band for scenesters because they're touring on kerrang for a wider audience.
Listen to Guaze or Macabre by them
Defiantly their best 2 albums

Okay, I'm not looking to get in any fights here, but here's the thing. I love all of Dir en grey's albums. It took me a while to warm up to their newer stuff, but Deg is above all else an acquired taste so that's not so surprising.
But you really display your lack of faith in them to say that they're trying to be "trendy" because it's just not true. The only thing that has never changed with them is their honestly. They don't make music for anyone but themselves. Read some of Kyo's interviews.
RaynStorinoEbansu 2 years ago 8
Sorry, that was abrupt, I ran out of space. If you get the chance to read some of Kyo's interviews (many are translated on livejournal) do that, because in one memorable quote he basically says he'd rather play to an audience of 20 than participate in making music that he doesn't feel (even if that would get a larger crowd). So it really just bugs me when people act like they're selling out. Because they aren't.
(Sorry if I come across as harsh.)

You missed my point, diru's my favorite band.
I said LIKING them is becoming a trend.
SunflowaSeeds 2 years ago
I can see how that would bother you. That isn't exactly what you said but when you put it that way, now I can better understand what you mean.
Personally, however, I can't understand why you feel that way because I've met very few fake Dir en grey fans. I am very lucky in that, I think. But I'm glad to hear you don't find the band to be trendy. :)
I also consider them my favorite band, and much more.

i like Marrow the best. Withering was sex. and Uroboros was some rape but Marrow iz god. so i give all my love to Marrow!!

i think this was their second best album their best was vulgar then withering to death but all there albums are brilliant
brad67676 2 years ago
yuck.
i have no interest in Marrow. it's not in my taste, at all. Repetition of Hatred, Agitated Screams & Clever Sleazoid are the only songs that grab me.
My faves in order are::
Kisou-Gauze-Withering-UROBOROS-Vulgar-Macabre-Marrow.
That's not to say marrow is bad, no way. It's just my least listened to.

so u liked them better in there visual kei days
brad67676 2 years ago
i don't want to sound bias in that i liked them in vk because it's not even about the image...it's just the fact that marrow is so uninspired.
it's nothing i've never heard before. just another american metal release.

I thought MOAB was very good =]
Uroboros is one of my least fav albums..its just alot of screaming and some of the same beats...all the songs are good just not as good as wtd or moab.
MichelleLivesRock 2 years ago
Listen to it again. (As with all Deg albums, right? Haha.)
Definitely pay close attention to the rhythm work in Red Soil. Oh my gosh. It's phenomenal. If I pay attention too closely I get a bit of a headache, haha, 'cause it's kind of disconcerting. But in a good way. :)

namaewasutefen 2 years ago 2
Definitely one of their best CD's! They have improved alot! More of my style of music! Back then it was more rock/metal and indie, but now it's like hard metal and progressive, which is sexy. <3
