One thing I've never understood is in most futuristic movies, guns get bigger and bulkier. I have a feeling they're going to get more compact and deadlier. First gen. lazer guns or any energy based weapons(if it ever happens) will probably be huge, but when the technology evolves, they will be more concealable. Doesnt seem practical to me to run around a battlefield with a 90lb weapon.
i liked starship troopers, but at the sametime i was disappointed. as a avid Robert.A.Hienlien i had first read it at 13 yrs old, and read several (thats a understatement) times again since then. i found the movie lacking in several areas. as Mr Hienlien had predicted when asked why he hadnt let any of his novels be made into movies after his experience on the set of Rocketship Galilano.
it really bothered me that they had ranged rifles and they would wait for the incests to be right next to them and they would fire from the hip, also why no air support or tanks or mortars
@McCbobbish pulse rifle wins >:) Explosive caseless rounds own all....if they werent even allowed to be used in the processor because of their damage just think what they could do to one of those fraking bugs
@FearLancer2 Absolutely. Not to mention underslung pump-grenade launcher and 99 round magazine. The USCM skip all the shotgun pansying and go straight for explosions.
