It seems Gilgamesh is bent on preventing anything natural to enter his domain ; in the rectangular space where he lives, there's nothing natural or alive, save for himself (and he is himself a kind of unnatural monster-person fused onto a tricycle). Plus, there are traps here and there in his domain, used to kill intruders (like the dandelion flower and the insects). This movie may be perceived as a criticism of modern civilization where everything is artificial and devoid of sensuality...
