If petrol powered cars will be replaced, billions of dollars have to be invested in infrastructure for electric cars, and it will take years even decades. Electricity alone won't do. Other alternative fuels like biofuels can power our cars too! Companies like ls9 and Virent are working on a second generation on biofuels. check out their websites !

The infrastructure already exists for the most part, it's called power lines. It's not us who will pay for that infrastructure. Shai Agassi's Better Place infrastructure involves charge points and battery swap stations paid for and built by the better place company, so that they can sell their power to us. How is that a downside?

Biofuels are a terrible idea. You need a rainforest in your backyard for it to work.

The arab countries oil producers will go crazy if electric cars sucessfully reach the world market. they will be force to compete against electric car which means oil price will drop like rock nad we will win the fight against terroists. they wont have enought money to finance terroist organization. electric car is major threat to the muslims because they economies depend on oil to survive.

I agree, It's not the governments job to take our money and spend it on finding new technology. If I had the money that they've taken from me I would have the money to invest in companies that are doing it or I would do it myself. Oh wait .. I AM doing it myself. I started an EV business of my own.  Government TAKES from me, they don't help me a bit.

electric cars can have a much longer life. They cost less to make. EV's blow the doors off of ICE cars and it's like the Model-T days of electric.

New technology in the pipe now will only make this more true. Why use batteries when you can use Carbon Nanotube Ultracapacitor?

Muslims wont like this but just call it a hunch that Israel may not mind the results of EV revolution on Muslim power in the world. Just a hunch. What do you think?

Well - Air is another good idea (no need for battery exchanges ...) - but its tooo perfect to get support from anybody ... It would be the worst case scenario - cars without damage-parts ... but i hope it gets sucessfully this time, the ev1 died not because of technical failure ... it was the lobby - hope the climadiscussion pushes enouth ...
