I was thinking about going to Afghanistan to do some journalism. It's not entirely impossible to imagine myself being setup to look like i'm trying to help the terrorists
Do you believe that i, a Canadian-born citizen should get a fair trial in this case? Even if you thought it's possible that i was helping terrorists? would you at least support a fair trial as our constitution dictates?
If you don't support a fair trial for Omar, you don't really like what Canada was founded on

I didn't say he was going there on a journalism assignment. I gave an example of something that could happen to me, and odds are you would become my enemy if that situation occured.
Omar was forced by his family into something bigger than himself. he was only a boy, and i agree we should put his family on trial.

Political correctness is a cancer that is eating away at common sense. Anyone who expresses his or her views about any minority is classified as a racist. Canada does not need another trained terrorist; we have enough in Brampton Ontario already. Actually "due to our recession" we don't need anymore third world imports of any kind. You think that Canada has some sort of control over the US justice system? A Canadian woman was found to have drugs in her luggage, and the North Vietnamese government executed her within days. Do you blame that on the Canadian government? There are no individual rights in Canada, only special rights for minorities. Do you think Canada's white European founding settlers have rights? "No they don't".

And i do not claim to justify omar's actions. What he did was wrong, but what you're saying is extremely treasonous.

He didn't get a choice of which womb he would be birthed out of and what parents would raise him, He was a minor given no choice by his parents when they dragged him along with the rest of his family to Afghanistan, If anyone should be put in jail its mother and his siblings that were old enough to make their own decisions back in 2000-2002.
Lady Justice wares a blindfold for a reason , Your hate and fear won't let you see the fact that this kid is a victim of his father.

I think you're the only sensible person left in this indecent page of hateful comments. Omar Khadr was forced to join Al-Qaeda at 11 years old to join the training camps of Afghanistan, just like any other young moroccan, algerian, ethiopian, etc.
These young people were just told to hold a gun and kill any invader, most of them are poor and live a brutal life because of some extremists arabic families, they have nowhere else to turn except going to a country they merely heard of and...

And now that Afghanistan was invaded by US and NATO forces, Omar khadr has to apply everything he was taught for the last 4 years, in an exchange of fires, Omar kills a soldier of the Special forces and gets injured as well, he is then taken in full convalescence in Bagram, and then sent to Guantanamo to be tortured. Now think about it, killing an American soldier is a crime, while killing an Afghan civilian is not..

Since when killing in a battlefield is a war crime ? Since when a child-soldier must be tortured for being put in the battlefield ? Id also like to point out that one of the interrogators QUIT his job at gitmo partly because of the brutal treatment towards Omar. He is also willing to testify!
Omar was shot twice in the back, because he was hiding ina corner while his town was getting bombed.
He was then immediately taken to prison, not given proper treatment on his wounds, tortured, waterboarded, deprived of sleep, deprived of food.
You are a sick human being for supporting this treatment with no indictable evidence!

first off, show me your evidence that Omar Killed the American.
Soldiers at the scene of the crime are willing to testify that another combatant threw the grenade before one of the soldiers shot him in the head.
It is also possible that the grenade was from friendly fire!
The boy deserves a trial before he loses all of his rights.
