it could be groovy, just not quite there. a lot of cats these days do this: try to impress my playin' up tempo slav percussive grooves, minus the groove, then go into some double thumb shit for some icing on the cake, come back in off time. the entire thing is rushed and hardly ever hits back on one in relation to the bars before it. listen to a metronome.

I take a more Flea approach. Very heavy fast. A tip is to use the middle boney partof the thumb on slap, and slap the strings right on the neck. It gives me a sound i prefer.

I think is the wide fretboard that screws me up. Have you run into problems like that? or is that on five and six string basses the strings are too close together?
