During a recession any recession tax revenues fall that is why lo people are against his stimulus and overall economic plans. During a recession any recession tax revenues fall that is why lo people are against his stimulus and overall economic plans. It had Glenn Beck predicting the end of the country as we know it, but at least he was saying it was for "X" reason. That "X" reason was QE/inflation/regulation/socialism etc. On the flipside he shows Keith Olberman spewing all sorts of hateful stuff toward Scott Brown, and Scott Brown is pretty liberal. @WingThaiJ So, having increased the size of the Pentagon budget by 200% in the last 10 years, fighting one too many wars, create an unpaid Medicare prescription plan (plan D), increased the scope of the federal government in private affairs by wiretapping w/o a warrant, AND giving tax cuts to the top 1% and tons of loopholes for corporations not to pay taxes did not get us to where we are, what did? I did not know that 10-100=200, but that is kind of the Republican/conservative math, go figure.

@CanalOmega I believe you are correct with Pentagon and unpaid medicare prescription plan; I' currently mixed about the wire taps, reasonable arguments on both sides, but I can be persuaded w/more investigations; increasing taxes on the wealthiest has lead to less revenue, no need to hire lawyers to find loopholes to save money when the taxes are lower, besides, the Gov wastes $ so to give them more to waste doesn't make sense; also, need to control backdoor deals among gov & corps.

What I would like to see is a level of spending that corresponds to the needs the country has. Look at it this way, you car is broke down and you cannot got o work so you incur in a debt to get a car to keep your household going. It would be irrational to lose everything just for a small saving in the short term. Spend where we need cut where we do not need.

During the last "business friendly administration," average family income fell, outsourcing became rampant and corporate tax liability fell to 1930's levels. Everything crashed and burn by September 2008. Today corporations such as GE(stimulus) and Goldman Sachs(also stimulus) have record profits how come they are not creating as many jobs as they generate profits?

Paralyzing debt has been what's been crushing the economy and leading to the poor and middle class losing many of their homes. You can't just make a blanket statement about how people from every SES will (or will not) spend their money.
BTW, that supposed "idiot" Rachel Maddow earned a BA from Stanford and a DPhil from Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar.
