@donbad harun abda, the kid that beat mellon at state, and mellon will probably be racing against each other a lot because now they are both in the big 10
@donbad ohhhhh poor Mellon. he had an off day guys so really he wouldve won. why doesnt the state just give him the win anyways? i mean his PR is better then everyone elses... doesnt mean shit. Good runners run fast, great runners run fast every time they're out on the track. its obvious where Mellon stands if he had an "off day" at the state meet.
Elijah Greer recently ran a 3:50.56 in the 1500, which equates to about a 4:07-4:08 mile! He looked like he was jogging until the last 250 meters, when he took off out of nowhere! His last 200m was in 26, and he didn't even look very tired at the end!!!
Yeah... Throw Terrance Livingston, Cas Loxsom, and Robbie Andrews into the mix too... Livingston and Loxsom have 1:48 potential this year (maybe faster), and Andrews broke the 1000m national record with a 2:22 (HE CLOSED IN 1:52!!!).
We could have 5 high schoolers under 1:48 in the 800m this year.
Unbelievable.
I can't wait to see whats in store for the future of USA middle distance running.
Andrews also set the indoor 800 national high school record wityh 1:49.62.... This year's gonna be a challenge for Greer. but Elijah Greer lowered his 1600 Pr down to 4:08.7 so it'll be quite a war >=)
definately! Greer has the ability to run even splits. like here he went through in about 53.7 and closed in 53.9! Robby Andrews of Manalapan High has a very strong kick.... he went out in 56.6 and closed in 53.0 wen he set his indoor record
I ran against Greer about a month before he did this, at the OSAA 6A State Championships, where he set the new meet record. This guy is amazing. He'll have a shot at the Olympics in 2012 for sure.
Mellon just got his ass kicked at the state meet.

you are an idiot if you think he got his ass kicked
that was mellon's 4th race in two days because of all the prelims
an hour or two earlier he ran a 1 49 in a relay to bring his team to second
and if you watched the race mellon wasnt even trying because he had a 4 by 400 to win 30 minutes later

he ran a 1:50 in the prelims...
that should mean something

Greer was a junior, too, just so you know. It'll be another barnburner if they can stay healthy.
