Went to see Dean Butler today and he gave an excellent talk on his experiences with the series. Apparently, this was Melissa Gilbert's first on-screen kiss and it took a lot of takes for them to get through it because her mother was on set and would start to wail and cry everytime they would get close to the kiss!
