As much as I LOVE the auto axis, and I really do like the way it can open / close from either side (either hand).. I wuld not get another one (unless I needed the auto for something)
For me it is more important to be able to close effortlessly and safely like I can with the regular AXIS
from what i understand, the black class is automatic knives designed for law enforcement and military use, the blue class is the "heart of benchmade" where the bulk of their knives reside, and the gold class uses the top materials available in the knife market.
My uncle gave me his Benchmade 5500, because he has a 5 year old youngster running around and is afraid he will get into it. I love this knife, it's amazing.
I bought a 5000 auto-axis Presidio. The handles are guaranteed to destroy your pockets! That was my only complaint, I returned it for a 9555 RIFT auto-axis. G-10 handles that wont ruin your pants, and a reverse tanto 154cm. blade. I love it!...If you are thinking about buying a 5000 auto Presidio, do yourself a favor and check out the 9555 RIFT, way cool.
im wondering out of the use you may have put it through have you had any side to side or up and down blade play? i hear these are SOLID...im looking at buying this or a grip, but i need a stong knife. just wondering your opinion. thanks.
on the benchmade website, when it says hk knifes, what does that mean? heckler and koch? I bought the 14455 h&k auto axis and i love it! It is really strong and i'm really happy with it. Butttt its new so i can't say it's awesome until it's been put threw alot of use.
I don't have any experience with the auto version of the Presidios...but the manual versions are completely awesome; fantastic knives...and those aluminum handles are uniquely brilliant!
I really do like this knife.Just got one and now it will be my EDC.It is fun to open as well and AZ is Auto friendly.

I would suggest an Axis lock (benchmade) since they are easy and safe to open AND close one handed

you found one of these that someone had lost? Dang
GearBuyersGuide 2 years ago
Yup just found it lying on the ground and no one said they lost anything. It's real dull, but it's still nice. TY for the review.
PhilipK73 2 years ago
@PhilipK73 You should return it to the owner. Do the right thing. Damn, I'm jealous!
kai199191 2 years ago
If I knew the owner I would. Don't worry though, karma got me. The crappy belt clip fell off and I lost it at church. Probably someone took it.

Just bought this knife! Cant wait to get it! I might do a vid on mine soon!

Didn't you see the H&K info on the knife you own?

why the fuck are auto knives illegal though like seriously how does that make it any more dangerous
RunsWitGuns 2 years ago 2
I think it makes scared people feel better to have dangerous things made illegal
Of course bad guys could care less, but they don't think about that
I guess it also lets them add another charge to someone using one in a crime... but how often are / were they really used anyway?
GearBuyersGuide 2 years ago
You can make it so that the blade can come out with a modification and it shoots out!
paintballman410 2 years ago
I doubt that very much,
GearBuyersGuide 2 years ago
lol then i guess i heard wrong.
