The holy Companions did not choose the order of Qur`an. Sayyidina Jibril recited Qur`an in this order, and Prophet (s), and Companions imitated Prophet (s).

@DominicanoOR There are two things, the order of revelation and the order of the finished Qur`an. Yes of course you are right that revelation began with Alaq. I was saying that the order of the Qur`an as it is printed today is the order that Sayyidina Jibril (as) would recite the Qur`an to Prophet (s) when he would recite the entire Qur`an in the later years... My point was that the order of the printed Qur`an is deliberate, not accidental or mistaken... Okay anyway take care.
