  • The Dance(s), there is more to these dances, back when there were no tourists, the DANCE and SONGS had a purpose, Many of these traditions are gettings lost in contests, and it is the responsibilty of todays youth of each tribe to learn these histories. Let not us disappear into nothing more than tourist attractions...Let the Medicine of our peoples history speak now as it did then, and be carried forward to speak then...as with every other of the Peoples ways... A'a.

  • I love that Men's Traditional dancer. Wow. Beautiful regalia.

  • To reiterate: I love the fact that this man can tell a story with his songs.

  • i wish that the hole world has respect for mother nature. like the indians, than there is a whole other world.with love.peace.and harmony.

  • I LOVE ROBERT MIRABAL, HES AMAZING !!

  • Robert is one of my favourtite performers he sings with pure emotion and from the heart

  • i follow the normal american society now i know why we took over u guys

  • @awkward11as11sause Define 'Normal American Society' idiot.

  • @awkward11as11sause Traditions of all cultures will someday form our future. The Circle will not be broken. "Normal American society" will someday be merely a vaguely remembered nightmare. Enjoy it fully while it lasts. :-)

  • @BrokenWings601 I am not white, and this is an important year for The People, these dances & songs The People did long before there were whites, are getting lost in the "translations", I was taught the old ways, no written instructions, it was all by hand. These dances have a deep medicine, they were not for money as you see at the modern day powwows, The whites brought the nightmare, but they are here, this year is an important one for the People, there are many changes.

  • @awkward11as11sause YOU did not take "over u guys", learn true history, not the fiction you learn in school ( as it seems you did not do so well ) or the fantasy of television. I find comments such as yours rather humerous because there is no weight to your words...A'a

  • 3:45 is my favorite part of the song.

  • @fmx8383 Mine too! I love the changeover.

  • GENIAL- DANCE NATIVE AMERICAN

  • Mirabal its a realy North American person, great music, great sound

  • This is wonderful to watch . I can feel the great energy of happiness .

  • Robert Mirabal is my inspiration. I believe he is a Holy man with Divine purpose. The Great Spirit emanates through his music and reminds us that Jesus' effort to restore Love and Peace to all human beings was not in vein after all.

  • brings a very warm feeling to my heart

  • Love it!!!!

  • I love Robert Mirabal.

    kiss from Ecuador.

  • When there is doubt there is hope

When there is fear there is love

When there is hate there is peace

When there is suffering... There is The Dance of love

    Such a touching song :)

  • I am so glad to read the comments about the people in this video. I saw this on PBS years ago - loved it and still listen to the cd before I go to sleep at night sometimes.

  • My dear friend Robert Mirabal is such an amazing, talented person. And my other dear friend Fabian Fontenelle, husband to my other dear friend Shelley Morningsong, who is also a singer, is a world reknowned fancy grass dancer and i believe he's also an actor, is an amazing, talented person as well. I'am proud to know all of them and they are the most beautiful people i know.

  • Im cherokee on my moms side and her father is so animated about his culture, i always feel so unique whenever i listen to him tell stories of his people

  • I would love to dance to that beyond my living room.

  • They put on such an amazing show. I was fortunate to see them twice at the beginning of the tour and then afterward....they had all lost so much weight!!! :-)

  • Love to listen to Reynaldo at the beginning!

  • @PiediBella I also love to listen to Reynaldo in this video and all the other material he has performed in with Robert. No one ever mentions Reynaldo (he is the heart of the music with his tribal drums and haunting vocals).

  • @PiediBella I also love to listen to Reynaldo in this video and all the other material he has performed in with Robert. No one ever mentions Reynaldo (he is the heart of the music with his tribal drums and haunting vocals).

  • @cassielou318

It's nice to see someone else who knows who Reynaldo Lujan is and his contributions to the shows. He is an amazing performer as well!! He is a gracious and kind man who is very nice to look at too! :-)

  • @PiediBella I agree wholeheartedly with your comments about Reynaldo. I wish there was more material of his out there to purchase.

  • ~*May You Never Hunger...May You Never Thirst...May You Walk in Beauty Eternally...Thank You for sharing this Blessed Messenger's Wisdom with us. There is Nothing more Beautiful or Humbling on the Mother to me, than Her Heart Beat-Drums & Watching "The Dance" at a Pow Wow. Being Invited to the Dance Circle with a Newborn is a Once in a Lifetime Honor one Never Forgets. Seeing Robert Mirabal in Concert was a Dream.

    Aho~Mi Takuye Oyasin @;}~

  • This makes me proud to be an American. Even though I have no native american heritage, the US is unique in having this as a part of our cultural heritage and it is right to celebrate it. This is for ALL Americans!

  • Robert... Mirabal. To me this name is synonymous with beauty. Every moment of this song is like the grace of God, slowly floating down from Heaven like a light flurry on a crisp winter night. From 1:31 to 1:36, Mr. Mirabal's voice takes on a supernatural quality, as if he becomes a medium for ancient spirits. Dance on you beautiful genius, dance on.

  • really? why do people always havvve to rattle their traps about the bible and christianity on native vids??? haven't you done enough?

  • In the holy bible people of long ago also praised the creator with music and the

    circle dance. Psalms 150:4

  • I met him last night at Lincoln Center in NYC last night(7-27-11) he's so freaking tall but he's very nice. He invited me to see his show in home number 2, New Mexico at the end of august-early september. He's one great guy with a fantastic voice!

  • I love Robert Mirabal! He is one of the few representatives of the Navajo Nation and the Pueblo Natives in the State of New Mexico that i grew up with all my life(besides living in NYC). He's one of my favorites and will continue to be. This song is fantastic and beautiful.

  • Love this dance!!

  • This man is a great representative for his people and ours. Love all his music.

  • how beautiful ... music chant dance.... lovely

  • this beautiful chant, rhythm and lyrics gave me the courage and motivation to complete my final year in the uni. the good old days....

Meegwetch Robert Mirabal for sharing your gift from Creator...

  • I keep warching Robert perform and dance, and it just blows my mind as to how much passion he puts into it...LOVE IT!

  • Being a NAF Flute Player brings you a sense of peace, like none other. RM brings out the Spirit, while playing within his soul/heart. There is a call to The Great Spirit, when we play our flutes. It's our way of saying, Father/God, do you hear us, do you approve of what we have become. Prepare the way, make the most of your talents, love all things, even when you stand in the face of hate. Laugh, smile, cry while you throw your voice into the wind. May the Great Spirit protect, and bless.

  • I can understand full well the meaning of "the Dance". I grew up on the rez. I remember my grandparents both tell me the dance turns boys into men. I partisapated in my first sundance before going into the army for spiritual protection. I value these ways. they are sacred to my people, The Cheyenne.

  • I love watching George Bearskin dance. He is a very nice guy...and very tall!!! ;-)

  • @KeatonxOrdie Which one is he?

  • @OctoroonToYou

George Bearskin is the very tall grass dancer. The other amazing dancer is Fabian Fontenelle. There is a beautiful woman dancing with Robert whose name is Rulan Tangen. I was lucky to meet her before a show. She is a tiny little thing with the most amazing freckles across her nose. The show was a family endeavor. Robert's wife Dawn is one of the dancers in that show, little daughter Aspen Dawn, brother Patrick and cousin Reynaldo.

  • OctoroonToYou....sorry....George is the man you see in the beginning of the video...the other with the face paint is Fabian. :-)

  • Robert is so hot and spiritual.

  • wonderful Dancer ,,,, Relax

  • Brule?

  • Imagine. We slaughtered these proud beautiful people for their land. Considered as savages for their beliefs and connection to Mother Earth. Instead, we were the savages )Evil) that slaughtered the Angels....and now. we are paying the price for our sins against these proud people that took care of Mother Earth and are much more blessed by the Great Spirit then we will ever be...

  • this rocks!

  • The male dancer in this video is truly amazing. Flowing and smooth and strong.

  • Robert Mirabal is universally perceptive into the hearts of all peoples everywhere and he advocates love, acceptance, tolerance and above all, the strength of the human spirit.

  • excellant

  • Ciao,Robert Mirabal,ti ho conosciuto in Albuquerque per il Pow Wow,sei una fantastica persona e incredibilmente bravo, i love you spirit, your italian woman..........God bless you

  • bonjour

  • Awesome Video. Like the dancers.

Merci Robert
