If you started from Code:Veronica, you wouldn't have the insight to the story line that 1, 2, and 3 give. You have to have a basic understanding of the story to understand many things in this game. smh.. noobs these days..

@didogazeto Hahaha well I'm very happy to hear that (: RE1 is pretty simple once you've learned all the tricks (: I'm pretty sure there's either a PS2 or a Dreamcast emulator available for download out there somewhere, so yeah, it's possible to get it on PC.

Game Informer gave the original Code Veronica X a 9.25/10 and the 2011 HD edition an 8.5/10. IGN gave the latter a 5/10. From now on, just ignore IGN's reviews. I find only GI and Famitsu are reliable, though Eurogamer isn't terrible.
I agree that this is by far the best RE yet. great plot and story and great boss battles. I am glad there are so many old gamers like me to like this and other great games of this time. Good stuff. ah old memories :)

And they will hunt for nearby living creature. The dead cannot feel pain and rise again even they hit by big impact until they head broken and brain scattered...so they become ugly because the situation.

Where you get to the point where you say wow that what do i do now. Thats right have to back track to the start because i forgot to put the magic feather up someone ass so now door A wont open. @TheRockSolidMetal77 The problem with the game is that it was too much like the others. It brought nothing new at all to the table. It's ironic that one of the reviewers said that he prefers it to RE 2 and 3, yet RE 2 at least omproved on the first in a whole heap of ways and RE 3 had the Nemesis. What did Code Veronica have - good graphics? That alone doesn't cut it. They just keep talking about the graphics like graphics are the most important thing, well they sure as fuck aren't.
@gilgamesh310 I do agree with the whole graphics not being the most important part to a video game, but the game had more then just graphics. The reviewers just failed to explain it, that kinda happens when there are two reviewers. They drift off topic at times. Though this review was made in 2000 and the big guy to the left has improved a lot ever since. Re2 being one of my favorite games ever right next to 4, I do like how they made CV to be kinda like a sequel to Re2.And the story was good.
@TheRockSolidMetal77 The story was admittedly the best in the series, though that isn't saying much at all but the gameplay was very stale by that stage. I also hated the way the zombies heads didn't get blown off when blasted with the shotgun. For Resident Evil that's a crime!

I just recently played it a few hours ago and you have to aim up at the zombies heads for it to work but honestly a lot of fans like the way re used to be and they hate what it's becoming now. More action then it is horror. And Cv played alot like Re 2 and 3. I think it was the first Re game ever to duel wield a gun which is pretty cool. It brought back the Hunter which to me was epic. They added the bandersnatcher. Only real concern was the controls tbh.
@TheRockSolidMetal77 The thing is though most people just harbour a lot of nostalgia for the older RE games. At this stage I find almost everything up to RE 4 to be rather unplayable because of the controls. The first one which I completely loved for it's time is simply unplayable now, there isn't even an 180 degree spin function and the load times are excruciating. The people who want a return to this style of games are deluded and are just speaking out of a isplaced sense of nostalgia.
@gilgamesh310 Well not speaking for everyone but even though the re games are becoming more about the action then horror, it's not to be said that it can't be done right. If they were to keep the Re4 type style (maybe even add the ability to move while you aim) but just up the horror a bit. It can be done if you've ever played dead space before that game really worked well at the scenery and the eerie sounds you hear while you're playing is just fantastic. But that's just what i think.
@TheRockSolidMetal77 I don't reckon Resident Evil is going to beat Dead Space at it's own game though, it needs to try something else to stay relevant. I reckon it should become either more pure action packed and abandon horror altogether or take a different route completely and make it all about survival where you're not given many weapons at all.

I would like it to be that you don't ever fully confident that you can take on hordes of enemies and to be mostly running from them while collecting vital items. Either that are just make it pure action without any pretences about horror and have HUNK as the main character who is my favourite. Not many people would like that idea though.

I wouldnt put it like that. I despise games that have you searching hours on hours for a key to open door A. Or hit switch C then do the cabbage patch to open door B. Where you get to the point where you say wow that what do i do now. Thats right have to back track to the start because i forgot to put the magic feather up someone ass so now door A wont open. It just not for me i always avoided them type of games....

I despise games where you have to find a Red Coin which is hiding underneath some place you never think to look for. Stick said Red Coin up Donkeys ass an when Donkey yells door will open. Have you tried the game Carrier for Dreamcast thats a pretty decent game with out annoying mundane puzzles....

@TheRockSolidMetal77 The problem with the game is that it was too much like the others. It brought nothing new at all to the table. It's ironic that one of the reviewers said that he prefers it to RE 2 and 3, yet RE 2 at least omproved on the first in a whole heap of ways and RE 3 had the Nemesis. What did Code Veronica have - good graphics? That alone doesn't cut it. They just keep talking about the graphics like graphics are the most important thing, well they sure as fuck aren't.

@gilgamesh310 I do agree with the whole graphics not being the most important part to a video game, but the game had more then just graphics. The reviewers just failed to explain it, that kinda happens when there are two reviewers. They drift off topic at times. Though this review was made in 2000 and the big guy to the left has improved a lot ever since. Re2 being one of my favorite games ever right next to 4, I do like how they made CV to be kinda like a sequel to Re2.And the story was good.

@TheRockSolidMetal77 The story was admittedly the best in the series, though that isn't saying much at all but the gameplay was very stale by that stage. I also hated the way the zombies heads didn't get blown off when blasted with the shotgun. For Resident Evil that's a crime!

I just recently played it a few hours ago and you have to aim up at the zombies heads for it to work but honestly a lot of fans like the way re used to be and they hate what it's becoming now. More action then it is horror. And Cv played alot like Re 2 and 3. I think it was the first Re game ever to duel wield a gun which is pretty cool. It brought back the Hunter which to me was epic. They added the bandersnatcher. Only real concern was the controls tbh.

@TheRockSolidMetal77 The thing is though most people just harbour a lot of nostalgia for the older RE games. At this stage I find almost everything up to RE 4 to be rather unplayable because of the controls. The first one which I completely loved for it's time is simply unplayable now, there isn't even an 180 degree spin function and the load times are excruciating. The people who want a return to this style of games are deluded and are just speaking out of a isplaced sense of nostalgia.

@gilgamesh310 Well not speaking for everyone but even though the re games are becoming more about the action then horror, it's not to be said that it can't be done right. If they were to keep the Re4 type style (maybe even add the ability to move while you aim) but just up the horror a bit. It can be done if you've ever played dead space before that game really worked well at the scenery and the eerie sounds you hear while you're playing is just fantastic. But that's just what i think.

@TheRockSolidMetal77 I don't reckon Resident Evil is going to beat Dead Space at it's own game though, it needs to try something else to stay relevant. I reckon it should become either more pure action packed and abandon horror altogether or take a different route completely and make it all about survival where you're not given many weapons at all.

@TheRockSolidMetal77 No I don't. I mean something along the lines the outbreak games but a bit different. I didn't like them much but I liked the idea of them. I would like it to be that you don't ever fully confident that you can take on hordes of enemies and to be mostly running from them while collecting vital items. Either that are just make it pure action without any pretences about horror and have HUNK as the main character who is my favourite. Not many people would like that idea though.

@gilgamesh310 Dude as a little kid I so wanted the hunk to have his own game ever since playing as him in Re2 and then replaying him in Re4 with his famous move the neck breaker. I always imagined him having his own story other then the guy who breaks zombies necks. Growing up in the 1990's I loved anything that had zombies in it, but now... it's just getting old..Every game now has to have zombies in it and to me that's getting old. It was cool with Re games but now...Come on already....

@TheRockSolidMetal77 I had it in my head that for RE 6, HUNK would be a freelancer for different corporations like Tricell or even Umbrella and the game would work on a level based structure with hims sent around different parts of the world battling monsters and stuff and then the company betrays him and leaves him stranded somewhere where he has to make do with limited resourses. He should have a range of brutal melee attacks such as his neck snap and be able to implement them whenever he

It would feature proper action with him being able to not only move and shoot, but roll and maybe engage in a bit of cover shooting with other human bad guys here and there. People might complain that that style isn't really Resident Evil but so what. Two formulas of RE have already been done. It's time to do something radically different. The next RE is meant to be a reboot as well.
