In the Norse beliefs they were the were gods of war, honor, strength, Vikings and Norse people believed in them, but they didn't worship or blood-sacrificed or went to pray every night, sunday etc. They were offered gifts (gold, food etc) for a safe journey if they were going to war.. and are in no way related to Satan, they were Gods of honor, and no churches or temples were built in their names.
