  • Lmao I'm going to be honest I thought this was crap, it's my first time hearing singing like this and it just sounded silly, and then i actually heard the song in the background and it was actually kinda cool

  • dude you've gotten so much better since your last video. i'm majorly impressed.

  • @yellowjello42 Thanks so much man! I just put this together for this British TV show. So I didn't practice much (I don't usually). I'm sure if I did it would be much better than this, but I have other things I need to practice :P

Thanks so much for watching :)

  • How do you get the overtone to have so much volume?

  • oh my god..... This is..... Your my new hero.

  • Super! I'm working on "formants" as a practical explanation for bending notes on on harmonica. By whistling the intended note, then taking the "tweet" away, continue the turbulance (whispered vowel): that mouth shape then bends the note of this whispered vowel. Searching "professor carl vowels" -- my thoughts on English vowels are helpful to some. Technically, these are voiceless fricative approximants along the velar-palatal continuum. And that's saying a mouthful : ).

    Any thoughts, thnks

  • THAT WAS SIK YO! good job, may i ask how long it generally takes to develop an overtone like that?

  • @ThePunPunisher Thanks man. It took me about a year to get it, working on it on and off. But I think that was just me, lol. I've taught people and they started getting a sound within 10 minutes.

  • @yuichituba lol kool and I'm sure you must be busy so I'd like to thank you for your time and response I appreciate it.

  • @ThePunPunisher You're welcome :)

  • lol.....what am i supposed to be hearing?

  • @strides2glory There's a high pitch melody in the whistle-range that's doing the Amazing Grace melody.

  • Do you live in Japan?

  • @BoeingB17FF No, but I grew up there.

  • <3. its funny when i practice throat and overtone singing, people think ive lost my mind, and it annoys me when people think im just making the main undertone, i can only get a couple tones to pop out and be really loud. needless to say, i only practice when im completely alone and no one can overhear me. lol

  • WOW! A little trill bit too on the 'was lost' part. COOL! Bloody show off.!. LOL

    Really cool though.

  • I saw a busker in Vannes who ended a piece for violin and voice with this sort of thing, more for sonic effect than musical. It's on my channel if anyone's interested, he was really awesome.

  • If you find a use for this??? let's think a minute.......mmmm.. Nothing

  • it would be the best ever if you could change the bottom note every once in a while...it only works in that note?

  • @lionchamp29 Traditionally it's never changed. But there's one German guy that did a video response to my other Amazing Grace video. You should check his version out, it's amazing. His username is xwokizok.

  • ... I need to learn how to do this.

  • Oh no !! You'll put bagpipers out of business !

  • fucking awesome.

  • Crashed R2D2

  • OH MY GOD THAT WAS SOOOOO BADASSSSS

  • couldnt hear amazing grace in that ?

  • Brilliant! :D

  • Dude - you're a human bagpipe

  • HOLY SHIT. i was watching ur tutorial first (expecting a normal singing tutorial) and then i noticed that this was some weird tutorial so i clicked the original vid and now im like... HOLY GUACAMOLE. I was in paris, and there these monks sang 2 pitches at the same time too, and it was really cool as well! Great job ^^

  • @theK0OKS Haha, thanks man. That's cool you got to hear the real stuff in Paris. Those guys are awesome.

  • awesome mate !!!

  • WOW. That's sooooo cool!

  • Great one, alot better then the first! Keep it up!

  • ok so i cant hear the melody of amazing grace in this video at all...is there something wrong with the audio on my computer or something? cus all i can hear is the bottom note...same with the other videos

  • dont listen to the voice, listen to the different pitches from the overtone, i find this is hard to do, started like half hour ago to try and learn how to do it, but im gunna keep at it :)

  • @ropajop The melody is just a soft high pitched ringing. The bottom notes are pretty loud so it takes a while to get used to. I had to listen to this 3times before i caught the melody.

  • @ropajop it's like a whistle sound.. very light.. you have to listen carefully.. it's actually louder here than in the first vid he made

  • You are kidding me. TV actually showed this ?

  • Hey. I have a question. How can you control the pitch of the harmonic note without changing the pitch of your voice? Im getting stuck on that.

Your tutorial video was excellent. I love singing overtones down the halls in my school :D

  • Thank you. Ya, it's fun because you can hear them clearer the further you go.

As for without changing your singing note, that just takes time and practice to keep from listening to your own voice/keeping it from moving.

  • @yuichituba How do you have breath to do that? I wouldn't even last 2 seconds.

    Great video man

  • @dudesons441 it's all muscle memory. I had the hardest time keeping a steady pitch at first, sliding up and down slightly as I went, and it messed up the melody. After a while, though, it becomes like riding a bike... intuitive and without thinking.

  • this is freaking amazing

  • hahaha, thanks man.

but dammit, your youtube page is sexier than mine :'(

  • yeah much bette and simply amazing again <3

  • nice!

  • ...o yea! much better than the 1st vid.

  • my friend can do that its so cool

  • So the way I see it, you're doing a bass note (your voice) and the treble part (the overtone.) Are you able to change your bass part while simultaneously keeping the treble part going, or is this form of singing restricted in some way?

This is the first time I've ever heard of it, and I'm pretty interested to know how it works.

  • hi Zollikoffer. Ya it is possible to do it. This guy here does an amazing job with it. Check him out: youtube. com/user/xwokizok

  • i'll show you a bass note :P thats about an octave higher than most notes i would consider bass LOL

  • Hi! I want to learn this sound. Is there an internet school?

    HAL

  • Sounds like that scottish instrument :p

  • much better than the last one..

  • Producing a throat singing CD will be good idea

  • Yas! I can hear it, was worried there for a while!

  • TUVA!

I've seen Tuvan throat singers and you do a really good job.

  • its a lot better!!!!!

  • Awesome, dude!

  • Cool. Maybe only something bagpipers can appreciate? And bass players - I'm a bass player too! Very cool.

  • I think I am doing it correctly now, don't sound as good as the others though, I guess I just need practise.

  • If you continue to be a complete tool everyone you know will get a headache.

You didn't even get the technique description right. Tool.

  • After watching it a few times, it's not that bad, lol!

  • WOW, what control! You sound like a human bagpipe, huge respect!

    Great Vid!

  • You make me laugh! Thanks very much! This is a great comment.

  • Comment removed

  • Awesome! the second version is every bit as good as the first, but not quite as cute with the mustache ;) lol

  • That is truly amazing!

  • Amazing! Would love to learn this. I use sound healing with Reiki, which is kind of similar to this.

  • loving the mo' =)

  • wowowowowowowow

  • wow

  • Good job!
