its more along the lines of as the sun hits the grass from different points in the day, the grass will produce alot different breaks on the greens and alot more drag on the ball, the grain of grass actually follows the suns movement in the day, so if you putted 15ft away at 9am in the morning and then at 5pm in the afternoon the break will be alot more different and the speed
