  • I feel so bad for her

  • omg i hope i never have a stroke..sounds horrible :(

  • I'm glad they explained this. I was getting mad at people who called this fake. I've taken care of stroke patients who lose their speech, ability to chew, swallow and walk. Some of them regain their independence but there are always lingering effects from stroke. The name of this syndrome implies that people "gain" a known accent, but really they sound similar to some stroke patients I've met that are re-learning to form words.

  • can i be rich if my brain is damaged?

  • so if my brain somehow damages, i can have different hair?

  • @darkbluemars No, that is determined by genetics.

  • I know I Shouldn't Laugh but I just Wonder How that Doctor Managed to Keep a Straight Face.

  • @werekutum lol

  • in this video sounded so danish...which is a great accent..only in this case..wasnt that cool

  • where be da last part mon?

  • hey my best friend just had this syndrome we are Jamaicans and she as never been to England and is not associated with any British but now she speaks fluent British can anyone who knows about it contact me at 876-373-3947. she just turn 21

  • The guy still sounds british to me...

  • She does sound French and Japanese at times!

  • She sounds Brazilian Portuguese 00:55 - 01:02 Esse (?) braça ...with a bit a Bulgarian dialect sound at the end.

  • @dndrequiem

    combinado ,penso que tambem

  • I am really interested in the cause of this, and I'm really trying hard to keep this all serious, but after she said 'grandfather' and went to sing Happy Birthday, I just exploded with laughter. I feel ashamed but I just couldn't help it!

  • @Murphyalex Same thing happened here.

  • Wouldn't it be funny if one of these doctors suddenly got afflicted with the syndrome?

  • Can you say wish? ''wit'', no? ''non''...grandfather? ''grandafadozz'' Dx, poor woman.

  • she sounds like my great grandma from holland. man i wish i could understand what she is going through. she will be in my prayers

  • she sounds like my great grandma from holland

  • that is a pure lol

  • german... XD

  • Perhaps the stroke he had caused him to pick up a part of his "past life"? Far out idea, I know but there is crazier things out there still without explanation....yikes

  • ALL YOU RETARDS REPEATING 'IT DOESNT SOUND ITALIAN' IT DOESNT SOUND FRENCH' OR 'ITS NOT AN ACTUAL ACCENT'

SHUT THE FUCK UP, WE KNOW. THEY KNOW, EVERYONE FUCKING KNOWS.

AAAAND THE FUUCKING VIDEO IS TELLING US. AAND ITS KNOWN LIKE MANY OTHER CONTIDIONS UNDER A NAME THATS DESCRIPTIVE BUT NOT NEXESSARILY ACCURATE. FUCK IT PISSES ME OFF TO HAVE TO HEAR THE VIDEO SAYING ITS NOT AN ACTUAL ACCENT WHILE DOUCHEBAGS STATE THE OBVIOUS IN THE COMMENTS.

  • Cant they do an impression of an english accent

  • sometimes she sounds from indian, and other times she almost sounds bulgarian :P

  • @soccerbabey does she hell sound Bulgarian!! Shes not deep enough. She sounds a little like my mums friends husband and he's Norwiegan.

  • how come I can understand what she's saying, if she isn't reading or singing? if she's just talking normally, making conversation, I can actually understand her...but when she was reading I couldn't understand anything.......hm.....

  • @Time4growth i said at times......DUH

  • It doesn't sound like a real foreign accent. That's just what the listener applies to it. It's affected her pronunciation wholesale, which is why people perceive this wide source of other 'accents'

  • @Time4growth no she dosnt, i have a russian friend and its so different, she sound french sometimes and dutch/norweigen

  • damn that happy birthday joint is hilarious

  • How horrible it must be to not even be able to sing Happy Birthday....... :I

    Its freaky.

  • For what it's worth, she is white (European) and her new accent sounds "Russian" or Eastern European. Foreign accent syndrome would be even more difficult if the accent sounded Asian--say, a Chinese or Korean accent. That would really be disconcerting.

  • it may be an Identity problem

Or a Hybrid accent if the person has done a lot of travelling or lives with a foriegn person

  • I haven't seen it all, but could you have been born with it? or just been raised around it all, as in raised around a bunch of different accents in one place.

  • @KN18R it can happen after coma, one woman from liverpool went into a coma then woke up with a very very rich jamacan accent

  • I find it very fascinating in the first two parts .. but after I read the paper myself and hear her pronounce them - I can't help but laugh a little .. forgive me. XD

  • What would happen if she learned talian?

  • @veddy999 Holy shit you are a rare fucking brilliant thinker. I wonder if anyone has thought of this: Try learning foreign languages, or try SPEAKING with and ACTUAL foreign accent, or... i dont know. I wonder what would come out.

  • "the pictures show you are faking it, because you thought an Italian accent was cool"

  • bahaha iknow.
