i've never played one of these, how does it compare to the Roland handsonic? I own a Handsonic and it seems more versatile than this. And what is the price for one of these?
For example about acoustic conga, it has many type of sound. When you hit different position, different technic, different material and.. your hand or my hand. All there has different sound.
But usual electronic percussion has only 2 or 3 sound.
When you play the WAVEDRUM, your sound will be different from my sound like as acoustic percussions.
If you play WAVEDRUM, you'll notice that WAVEDRUM is completely different from usual electronic percussions, I believe.
The handsonic creates sound only from midi and the dynamics are reduced to the strength of strokes.. More like a midi controller. The wavedrum has built-in piezo mics and a pressure-sensor.. It creates the sounds from the sound of the skin and rim of the wavedrum so the sound depends on your hand/stick technique, too. And its output can be set to play both the sounds it creates and the sounds it records. Handsonic is easier to play, wavedrum is more fun :)
Holy smokes. So the one thing it looks like is that the drum was moving around when you were playing baiyan (left hand) type strokes in the tabla mode. Is that fixed by getting a sturdier stand?
This sounds so amazing. It sounds better then my real percussion. But my real percussion isn't really spectacular but still. This is amazing for electronic music.
@progjazzfusion No not with a crappy mic and cheap percussion. Ok sure it is always better in the way that you have infinite amounts of different notes. But if I make a production with the wavedrum it will sound 100X better because there is no need for a fancy mic and fancy room.
I am planning on marrying my soon to be bought Korg!!! :D

The stand that I'm using in this video is the middle class one.
Therefore, there might be a stronger stand.
For example, Sonar's one is maybe good but it's so heavy.

Drums always move like that when they're on stands..
