I can appreciate Fazil Say's playing... but only when I'm just listening... he's absolutely painful to watch. he has so much technical ability... yet his interpretations just seem misguided to me... I give him credit for giving his all in every performance... but music on this level deserves more than just what makes the performer feel powerful

I think it is an emotional interpretation - only the piano sounds bad - it can also be the sound recording equipment that spoiled it.

this is my favorite performance. you all are used to kempff playing it like it's an itty bitty storm a tempest is a violent storm...this is how a storm should sound. Thumbs up.

showoff... tries to play it like Gould but he doesn't even come close. totally raped the dynamics. Gosh, Gould play it prolly faster but when he plays it, it sounds totaly different and better...

What an unconventional intepretation! I love it. The usual pedalled notes are now played with stacato. It sounds so harpsichordish

great song.. i just finished learning it, but it doesn't sound anywhere near like this.. i tend to use more pedal to smooth up some parts.

I think he uses enough pedal and sounds very smooth. Are you sure you aren't using pedal to cover up sloppy technique.
