"What she does and doesn't disclose to her family." I totally get this...
Kel is out to her immediate family, except her dad. For the most part, I'm OK with that. We see him 3 times a year together, (she sees him more often). But they talk on the phone every night (3 min tops, but every night at 6pm). And it's the little things that bother me and will turn my mood. I try to brush it off, but sometimes. It's so hard, because I'm out to my entire family ... cont...
(not that I'm close to them, in the first place) but it's rough being put in and out of the closet constantly for 24 hours, x 3-4days... Because we are just us around her siblings and niece/nephews, but the moment her dad walks into the room, we have to be hyper vigilant about not touching or calling each other a pet name or the little stuff. And Kel only tells him half the truth when she talks on the phone (like what are 'you' doing this weekend or what's for dinner?) Sometimes, it's just hard.
Where you grabbed me and shook me around the most in this one was at about the halfway mark, when describing the irrational behavior triggered by having to go into UltraPaul mode.
Dissonance management seems to be a necessary skill for us.
