Am I missing something here? What's nice about this story? You have a duck as a pet and your duck is wonderful, but other ducks are targets to be shot and killed? So somehow, because you personally know this duck, he gets to live. But the ones you don't know are ok to kill? Very sad and totally egotistical. Maybe if you looked beyond your own ego, you'd realize that all creatures value their lives. I made that leap in 1973 and haven't eaten flesh since then. Love animals? Why kill to eat?
No matter how bad my day was going, if I saw this duck pulling up in the passenger's seat of a truck it would completely turn my day around immediately.
It will be hard to wipe the smile off my face today! I know he wouldn't survive in the wild, but he's happy, well cared for and makes others happy too. Way to go Frankie!
Tuesday, 4/6/10. This story just charmed the socks off me. Look at how much Frank the duck quacks! Seems as though Frankie has a lot to say, like he wants to engage in conversation with Joe Mansheim. What a good work partner and driving buddy. This story made my day. Thank you for sharing it. Darling, just darling. Clap, clap, clap, clap, clap.
i totally agree. i've had pet ducks and they have awesome individual personalities. u can learn alot about being a better human being by having animals around.
I had a duck who was much like this one. She would ride with me everywhere, and LOVED the car! I kept her in a clear low profile plastic box so she could see out the window and if she pooped, it was okay. She was the best pet I ever had. Someone shot her. I will never completely get over it. Thanks for this video!
This is such a nice story...I like the man's comment about everybody having a duck and the idea that we would be happier and nicer. I once had a Ford Escort that I named Mrs. Mallard, and then I had a Ford 150 pickup that I named Mr. Mallard. Ducks are spectacular!!!
Thanks for your comment. I miss my ford escort, it was nammed cinnamon, because of her color, deep maroon and pep. Birds are spectacular, I have a bird buddy, too that keeps me company named Rupert a cockatiel, he's so intelligent. This duck frannkie is spectacular, what a great attitude Frankie has!Flirting with the girls, sooo cute. My boy bird flirts too! They all have their own personalities. Thanks, ciao.
Ducks will imprint.

how can he still hunt ducks though?
the ducks he's hunting could be his friends just as much as frank is... he just doesn't know them the way he knows frank.
that's sad.
this story would have been great if he had changed his ways and stopped hunting.
