  • I wonder what the reverse version sounds like!

  • right at around 1:30 it sounds like where is your mind

  • if you like this, you will like 'ducktyping' check the soundcloud

  • this is why John Frusciante is one of the greatests of all time, he can make you feel whatever he wants with his music. not that many people will be able to understand but thats whats what makes music so powerful. dont always listen to the radio. Johns the man

  • the start of the never ending journey

  • It's probably a good thing John Frusciante hasn't written an autobiography, you'd need to have a very strong mind indeed not to be driven insane reading it...

  • what the fuck am i listening to?

  • @MrAlala911 john frusciante dude... john frusciante

  • My favorite Beattles song is "While My Guitar Gently Weeps", but at least for the first part of this song, I think that guitar IS actually weeping!! How awful (Sad awful, not technical, I know nothing about music)

  • @sceann are you ....joking or being serious?...you've got to be joking lol.

  • This song makes me... scared. Creepy stuff.

  • this reminds me of the royal tenenbaums :]

  • at 3.30 it sounds like he says 'will'

i got really scared but happy at the same time

  • Is it weird that I got emotional listening to the first 47 seconds of this? Only John :)

  • soo beautiful ...

  • wheres untitled #1???

  • 1 36 he looks like phil anselmo

  • chillis without flea

  • fully torqued

  • this music is playing backwards. sounds creepy.

  • John Frusciante is awesome.

  • as much as i like his psychedelic stuff around this time, it hurts to listen to it knowing what a horrible state he was in with drug use and all. I mean some of his recordings you hear him coughing and you know his health is deteriorating. So glad he got through it and is still blessing the world with his music today!

  • @skip2mylou05 When he made this album he was only smoking weed. John has said many times that he didn't record this album during his heroin days, only Smiles From the Streets You Hold was.

  • @7h3tSLDR02 That is actually incorrect. The first part of the album (Ninadra Lades) was recorded while he still was in the band. The second part (Usually Just A T-Shirt) was recorded after he quit the band, so he was on heroin while recording the second part. As for Smiles From The Streets You Hold, that record was recorded from when he was 17 all the way to around 1995/1996 :)

  • @Sangachin This is not true. The second part was recorded just before he quit the band. The only song that was made after he quit is Running Away Into You.

  • @skip2mylou05 He was actually doing the tour for bssm when Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T-Shirt was recorded, atleast the untitled tracks the rest was when he they were recording bssm (except for running away into you which was made after he left the band). He was just starting to try heroin when this album was made but he wasn't like he was in the 1994 interviews.

  • fucking beautiful ;)

  • at least the beginning, then it starts getting a little crazy.

  • @bgrich2003 embrace it.

  • amazing

  • it ended

  • @Udovica69 I love everything else he does, I'm not deaf but maybe my ears don't work in the same way as yours.. Was just my opinion on the recording I taught thats what the comment section is for.. My bad, I wont use it again.......

  • @clarkshapedbox. i like twirling my moustache to this.

  • @DELFYonceagain lol AK can't play guitar at all! well he definately couldn't for a long time haha :) its john

  • @DELFYonceagain hey, no thats not anthony..when john first joined the band in the late 80's his hair was kinda reddish orange, and he was a lot healtier and clean and also had a very fit body...i think thats y u were confusing him with anthony..kinda looks like him but no :)

  • Oh God, it feels like I'm at peace with everyone... So totally beautiful..

  • @DELFYonceagain i dunno but he can play it

  • it sounds backwards

  • @ruzha2l its an amp effect the amp plays whatever he plays backwards.

  • @delta9LouDog no he records his guitar then flips the cassette over so it plays backwards, it's no amp affect.

  • @delta9LouDog are you serious?

  • @iancurtis123 either that hes playing it backwards from a track

  • Am I the only one that doesn't like this? I'm a huge fan of John Frusciante's work but this just sounds like the product of a coke head. Its been over a decade but I'm glad he cleaned up.

  • @lonewolf604 its strange.. it even sounds like heroin.. kinda shows wat he was goin through so its interesting and deep in that way.. but the actually music is bad.. but the feeling and soul is still there as in every other song he plays...

  • @Denzel1916 shit. it's in your ears, dumbfuck!

  • Comment removed

  • That`s similar to the effect jimi uses at the beginning of castles made of sand

  • when i listen to this guy playing i get a strong urge to chop my useless fingers off

  • @evagelos321 haha created an account just so I could like this comment. Glad im not the only one lol. Frusciante is so inspiring but so humbling!!

  • @evagelos321 γεια σου ρε βαγγο...

  • @fotillas έλα ρε μεγάλε

  • it backward and normal version at once is wonderfuckingawesome

  • This made me cry. It's so beautiful. A song filled with piled up emotions.

  • i like combing my beard to this

  • Comment removed

  • Yeah this is so 45 yrs ago when Hendrix did it. Backward lead.......WOW thats a new one.

  • This song is oozing with both despair and wonder. True talent is at work when he can put you in the same state of mind as he was when he created his art

  • If you listen closely at 3:33 you can hear him breathing.

I dont know why but i like it

  • @TrustyPistol

jesus dead at 33 years that's a sign maybe lol

  • I startet crying at the first note

  • one guitar is on reverse , or it's part of my imagination ?

  • @nicodriver97 The lead guitar is reversed.

  • @superstriker00 it sounds so ... WTF ?

  • @nicodriver97 But you've gotta love it.

  • It's still so mind blowing to me that the first two pictures are of the same person. I guess in some ways they aren't.

  • im a recovering heroin addict from detroit and it just kills me how some of these people (some) can just harness the beauty of the pleasure and struggle almost transcribing exactly but a tinge of (slightly out of tune, bad recording, etc.) it made me want to use drugs because i too though opiates where a key facter to a lot of great music. my girlfriends dad at the time was in a popular 90's alternative band sponge and chad from the chilli pepers was a good friend his. i was 17 shootin dope.

  • Excellent use of a reverse noise gate. His experience is a testimony and a compliment to his appreciation of(and exposure to) Hendrix

  • increible las sensasinos q se sienten al escuchar la gutrrrrr

  • 1:25.

  • I like 3:26 it's like a rebirth of the song.

  • i can feel the oppression of his drug use taking over his soul but his inner self breaking out of the oppressed mold that has been his life.

  • Reminds me of "Drifting" by Jimi Hendrix.

    Like, maybe say... 65%

  • @ShamusGarfunkle3 drifting is an amazing song

  • saddest song

  • this guitar is fuckin cying, thats what i call culture, thats what i call art, thats what i call music

  • isn't this backwards?....

  • this is untitled #3 just to let you know

  • @jkjkjkish No, no it isn't. It's Untitled 2. Unless your copy of the album is somehow different to everyone else's.

  • @Crisco0

i downloaded this album i guess untitled #1 was split into two songs for some strange reason my apologies this is untitled #2

  • for those wondering some parts of the song are played backwards

  • this song backwards?

  • all improve. you sir are a genius john frusciante

  • He's incredible. Better than Hendrix.

  • @tsktskboogie bold statement

  • @tsktskboogie yes

  • @tsktskboogie theres no better just different

  • Yo!

Check out my band's new song! :D It's on my profile

Would love any comment (good or bad) !

PEACE & Love to all you JF' Lovers

  • Don't be so negative. There's still good music, and always will be, nothing can destroy real talent, because it emanates from a place that exists outside time and mundane conditions.

  • Froosh looks like Phil Anselmo at 1:28. =]

  • This sounds like a mix of Beatles backwards tracking and Jimi Hendrix. Only Frusciante can do that.

  • you can hear the Hendrix influence

  • this is the sweetest melody i ve ever heard...like an esperimental guitar sound.....wicked

  • @madrugadao000 i feel blessed to be able to hear this.

  • This is awesome as fuck.

  • @ 2:47 :O

  • @fruitloopbabe87 I feel the same way bro

  • @janoska667....go fuck yourself douche bag. Go ride your ass on someone's Dick, dirty dancing to shit music.

  • musics version of abstract art. Amazingly beautiful. How does he know what its gona sound like backwards when he plays if forwards??????? Does he just know???? Or was It more of an educated guess??

  • @downfallin UH DER...Like have you ever heard of the Beatles and Jimi Hendrix , and the ButtHole Surfers You Dipshit.

  • @janoska667 i know alot of people use it he just has it going on the whole song pretty much and it seems like it would be hard to do. Whatever dude

  • this is some great cosmic experimental music, if the fiber that hold time and space together had a sound I imagine this is how it would sound... that sounds trippy when I read it..

  • my favorite guitar player too

  • it's like he's making the guitar cry. beautiful.

  • Nobody like John Frusciante, is unique¡¡

  • f*cking awsome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • It's like a fun experiment he did with reverse tracks... I can dig B-)

  • If you listen at about 3:00, youll hear alot of the melody from the beginning and the end of jimi hendrix's castle made of sand.

  • WTF is this? This is backwards? There may be somehing wrong cause everyone else loves this but to me, this is just jibberish (and i've been playing guitar for about 10 years). Like a heroin overdose.

  • I

    V

  • this song is the most beautiful story i've ever heard

  • idk who is my favorite poet of all time, john frusciante or anthony kiedes?

  • melancholy and gorgeous. i rank him among the premier living guitarists.

  • can any guitar afficionados give me a quick rundown on the effects that are going on here? cheers :)

  • @powa2dapeople no fx exactly, just 2 guitar parts, the electric lead part would have been recorded, then the tape flipped over so it plays backwards while the acoustic part was recorded, so you end up with chords and reversed electric lead.

  • @rodrigodelprat ah, get it now lol. cheers. he realy is absolutely awesome

  • @powa2dapeople acoustic guitar (steel and nylon strings) and reverse guitar.

  • wtf

  • gotta love the acid music

  • probably the JF recording that touched me the most

  • @kostil.. jesus will have a good laugh when he brings this up in conversation to you one day..talk about an awkward moment...john frusiante is the best guitar player since hendrix, even Jesus knows that.

  • Beginning seems possibly influenced by melody of No Woman No cry, but then he takes off into Frusciante territory, somewhere over India.

  • @DeTHIEFoTIME LOL

  • scar tissue was already inside of him:)

  • the 1st time i was listening to this song i was totally high

and this song made me feel like kinda warm inside, total amazing experience

  • i dunno why i'm very very like this song, and i think this song like chinese traditional music :D

  • this was in his movie "stuff"

  • @ksbrownie1 You know where i can get it? I'd really like to see it!

  • @IfearGuitars just search for it on here i watched it just yesterday

  • @Tregen300 On youtube?

  • @IfearGuitars yep

  • what yr did he start using heroin? 94?

  • @ksbrownie1 93/94

  • @ksbrownie1 much earlier. First drug experiments - late 1980's. And heroin - late 1991 - early 1992.

  • It pisses me how people are people are commenting on how John looks like Jesus or how Jesus looks like John. It might be amusing the first time you hear it, but it's getting really old. Just shut up and enjoy the beautiful music.

  • @MrMcPang Maybe you should enjoy the music instead of telling people what to write and what not to write.

  • @AndreasINCA I am, and I do enjoy this music very much. I'm just expressing my thoughts on music and religion. Since when was that not allowed?

  • @MrMcPang Since when is it not allowed to say wether he looks like jesus or not. I'm just saying that you do the exact same thing as them you are talking about.

  • @AndreasINCA I'm not saying that it is not allowed. I'm just saying it's annoying when you see the same thing over and over - 'John looks like Jesus or John IS Jesus'. It's like people don't have anything original to say any more. It's even more annoying when one of the top rated comments suggests that John>Jesus. As I said before, I believe that music and religion should be perceived seperately. Get what I'm saying now?

  • @MrMcPang Well does it really matter? I mean who cares.. I just found it funny that you said they should enjoy the music instead of writing those things. You just did the exact same thing. People can write what the want man.

  • @MrMcPang man u are so annoying

  • who's to say john frusciante wasn't jesus for a bit?

  • @k0stil why is it wrong for someone to think that someone else (jesus) didnt exist 2000 years ago? i dont care if your 10th generation child thinks i exist or not. get fucked lolskates!

  • @conskimo i think we have some talking to do.

  • That red Jaguar is sick

  • @onelongwordable don't be a guitar nerd, you neckbeard

  • @muffmanmuff Jaguars are sweet guitars... not sure how appreciating that makes you a "guitar nerd". Although you used the term neck beard, so I'm guessing you're trolling.

  • @MattMonk because a guitar is a guitar is a guitar. that's like saying 'sweet headphones'

  • beautiful.

  • won't see musicians like this anymore. the age of rock seems to be fading due to trash music.

  • @SweetKooshy fuckin sucks ay mate.

  • @SweetKooshy man people like you have been saying shit like this since the first generation of rock, and guess what, it is still here. in my spirit at least

  • @SweetKooshy Be optimistic, although there is a lot of shit there is still a lot of good music to come

  • @SweetKooshy amen .. if only we could have teleporters and all have a jam n make some real music .. owells

  • @SweetKooshy Well, im no frusciante, but im trying my best. He's my idol! who knows? Maybe you'll see me on a stage covering him, and playing my own songs, which i hope you will be able to relate to. And maybe im a fucking tard dreaming too much, idk... But i feel same way!

  • @SweetKooshy I hear you brother!

  • @SweetKooshy im not being fucking cooky when i tell you you are wrong, check my stuff.... theres still some raven jelly. greetings from Colombia ;)

  • @SweetKooshy give the new generation of us a chance :)

  • @SweetKooshy so true

  • @SweetKooshy Sure. You wont see too many musicians almost dying from heroin and crack and releasing something this embarassing. So sad.

  • @janoska667 I don't see anything embarrassing at all. The point of the music isn't that it's mainstream or sounds like anything anyone's ever heard. Yes, it's strange. But the point is that John picks up a guitar and allows his emotions to run through it and brings us music from his other worldly dimension. Some of us are able to appreciate that

  • @janoska667 you were an embarrassment to your family, im sorry, noone ever loved you. So sad... what will the world do now? oh ya nothing because all you are is an insignificant piece of useless atoms, combined to create what is negativity. If john frusciante made a decision to go down the path of drugs once in his life , thats his choice, and not yours to judge. To be honest the drugs is what made empyrean what it is today, go ahead and find something wrong with that album...

  • @SweetKooshy he is still alive o_o

  • @SweetKooshy What a cliche. Every fucking generation says this. Don't get me wrong, most music today sucks, but what you fail to see is that it's always been like that. There are gems, and there's coal--16 tons(what do ya get).

  • @SweetKooshy like rap. shit is so annoying. people are missing what real music is.

  • @Famous485 John Frusciante likes rap and hip-hop, it's not all bad, there's crappy rap and good rap, just like there's good rock and bad rock

  • @SweetKooshy I'm not like John, no one ever will be. But I am me, all I say is every human has to capability to do whatever they wish. He may have been given something, or been inspired in a way only he could be, but we can all do anything we can conceive and even things we cannot. Often with music, that is the point; there isn't one. I like to think I'm a new breed of musician, maybe if you heard what I do and see how I do it, you would be convinced there is still creativity in this world.

  • @SweetKooshy people have too much stuff to do these days, youtube facebook, tv etc etc etc. And the whole thing of having all partitures of all bands on line is nice and its easy to learn this way. But it makes people lack originality . salud

  • ..i love frusciante, and hes one of my favorite musicians... but u guys striaght would swallow his load.

  • 4:12 shine on you crazy diamond

  • @musicgetsmehigh1989

how the hell is that shine on you crazy diamond

  • @k0stil i was talking about the picture....the light from the back shining on him...geeez

  • @musicgetsmehigh1989

    haha sorry

  • Someday i will also see the fourth dimension, just wait and you'll see....
