  • i can't wait for this.

  • When are we going to see some more news about dbpro x10? :)

  • ...i just love how they keep changing the base program, so your old and cool codes keep getting unusable.

The funny thing is that for example, at the time when the first DB Pro came out, your original DB codes became useless, even if it didn't contain ANYTHING works differently in the Pro version. But if you rewrite the exact same code in Pro, it works fine. What?! Copy and Paste / Opening doesnt work, rewriting does? I was just so mad back then.

  • This isn't DarkBASIC Professional, this is DarkBASIC Professional X10 a different engine.

  • when is it coming out????!?!!

  • Of course write the code isnt that hard in Basic, but to find out what code is needed for the actual task is hard. This thing (Dark Basic) only gives you an already made 3d and 2d engine, EVERYTHING else depends on you. Fuck it is not easy people, just because it is called a game maker.

  • Cool

  • I know Cool!

  • i'm new to game creating and i havnt got dark basic yet but is coding complicated? and can someone explain to me what the coding means?

  • The coding isn't complicated in comparision to other languages, it uses the BASIC principle which is closer to the english language, but there is still a learning curve.

  • So that means, the FPS Creator and FPS Creator X10 was made in Dark Basic Pro :0 Wooow :) Awsome.

  • FPS Creator V1 was produced in DarkBASIC Professional. FPS Creator X10 is produced using an inhouse version of DarkBASIC Professional X10, we are working on the comsumer release.

  • @rvanner Was the whole FPS Creator made in DBPro? Or the interface in some other program?

  • Can I edit an FPSC X10 Game in this? Like, adding in co-op and an option for third person view?

  • No.

  • A question. Is DarkBasic Professional 1 compatible with Windows Vista?

  • yes ut us

  • what is the dark basic a programming language special for games?

  • pretty much ,, yea

  • it's almost that. but it uses a c++ editor .

  • I think your getting DarkGDk and DB confused. DarkBaic uses BASIC language thus DarkBasic.

  • your dropping bsp come on thats still used and is very useful for maps

  • you could probly get a plugin for BSP

  • I stopped using the crap BSP setup a long time ago anyway. I'm not sad, I hated the way that part came out.

  • so would i have to buy a manual or somthing to learn the new camands or will there be a pdf file or somthin?

  • They will probly put some help files in to cover the new commands

  • wicked. i have dbpro, but will i have to buy this or will it come as an upgrade?

  • It will be an upgrade later in 2008.

  • awesome! i can't wait for it to come out

  • Yeah, it's about time. Quit coddling FPS Creator and give us the compiler!

  • @rvanner Is there a finalized version of DBPro X10 yet? Oh, and are you planning on an X11 version? X11 is made of Win.

  • when will this program come out

  • is darkbasic compatable with cryengine 2 or unreal engine 3?

  • i believe the unlreal editor

  • when does this come out? id love to know!

  • I suggest you hold out on the Vista PC until they fix the bugs, but until then, you could always use XP and harness the power of the required graphics card inside.

  • yes dont get vista microsoft has never come out with system thats better you should wait

  • So come on, you now released fpscx10, give us dbproX10, or at least what you have so far!!!

    - MX

  • what? i want to creat a game can u explain in english

  • REM Statements, Do-Loops, Make Object Cube 1,1

    I Love This Stuff!! & I'm Barely 16

  • so what?

i am 15 and check out the games i made in DBC

  • whats dbc i love seeing home made games

  • DBC stands for DarkBASIC classic.

  • ok were can i see your games then

  • Wait, im confused. So you are saying that darkBASIC was created for making programs or game development? And whats better, FPS Creator or DarkBasic?

    And do you need Dx10?

    Thanks

  • You WILL need DX10 if you want the DX10 version of DBPro. You can still use the DX9 version of DBPro if you don't need DX10 technology.

FPSC X10 is for easy game making. DBPro X10 is for making any type of games but you need to code in BASIC.

    Rick

  • can direct x 10 work on an XP computer?

  • No, it's Vista only and you MUST have a DX10 graphics card - eg nvidia 8 series.

  • ahh i see. cheers m8. bt is it worthit?

  • It is worth having an 8800 graphics card! Vista is also very nice and slick.

  • Indeed, but it has more bugs than a open coffin next to a landfill. I say wait until next year or so.

  • how do u code? dont understand u know anything that will help me out?

  • they have X10? i didnt know that

  • Hmm... the DX10 features are nicely adapted; as far as this demonstration shows. I might switch over to DBP for my future projects. The texture array option really sets new standarts; if it can be used properly... All in all; great work!

  • DBP-incompatibility is probably the main thing that stops me from bying win Vista...

  • We're southernerns compared to Scots!

  • The first DarkBASIC was special, but would people have used it if they knew you were northerners? :D

  • Yes they would his country has nothing with this to do.

    Stop being such a racist.

  • Your keyboards definantly hate you...

  • Nice summary there and some interesting info. Sounds very promising.

  • Sounds nice ;)
