my femail has layed eggs now on the 3 day she has been realy cleaning out the cave but eggs are on the floor some are geting spat out of the cave then the mail gos round and picks them up whats happening are the eggs hatching or have the parents fed up and starting again please help
@courtraitthale It depends on where you live. Sometimes here in Canada you can get them for 8$ each, but sometimes you have to pay upwards of 15$ each. It all depends on size, really.
is there a reasonable answer for the betta to me its wrong is it just u have no room and just hoping he doesn't kill; the or a purpose but any way nc size fry my local pet store finaly got kribs but i have nowhere to breed them that and not yet there to egg layers (remeber:im mastering each live bearer then egg layers)
@zauzakeking Don't even start about the betta. There is absolutely nothing wrong in keeping bettas with community fish. They are actually not very aggressive at all, and the only no no's are fish with long, flowing fins, fish from the betta family or other bettas, or fish that will constantly nip at the betta's fins. I have completely successfully kept my bettas with guppies, platys, swordtails, corydoras, kribs, and fry. They say bettas are solitary fish, but they show a lot more personality.
@stephster575 ? i said to me its wrong not to anyone else it was just the way i was taught and i said in comment is there a reason or purpose or something else i guess it didn't write and i didn't say anything mastering fish keeping i said mastering breeding them meaning: to learn everything ic an about the fish or certain techniques to breed them.?
@zauzakeking Okay, I'll check out your new update. Sorry if I'm attacking you, I just don't like it when you use the words "mastering" and such. Even if you don't mean in that way, I can't help but assume you think a little highly of your fish keeping knowledge.
@zauzakeking When housed with other fish. Just like I said, keep in mind the exceptions, and NEVER house a betta with tiny newborn fry, because he'll (or she'll) obviously eat those. Larger fry are okay though, (like my krib fry) unless you have super aggressive betta. And there is no such thing as mastering in fish keeping. You still have a long ways to go with the basics, don't get ahead of yourself, please. :)
@AllAboutFishNFish Thank you! You have supported me so nicely over the months and maybe even years...!? (Have it been that long? lol) I am 14 years old. I made an account when I was 12.

@sampodgangie They're probably wigglers now, not eggs. That's perfectly normal behaviour, and at around 3 days, they are wigglers.

Do you have any tips for taking care of the fry? My pair are about to have some and it's my first time with fry...
surfer3232 1 year ago
@surfer3232 Feed them 3 times a day. Live foods, such as microworms work best, but you can also feed Liquifry and crushed flakes. Good luck.
