i can't remeber what does it called when there is the little ninja turtles cause i seen it on blockbuster long time ago when i was a kid and i don't remember what the title says.
The commercials of this time period seem very optimistic. Television catered to the ideas of Regan era conservatives, in many respects. The ideal of the American family and American enterprise were very strong after the fall of communism. In may respects this was the last era of cultural cohesion. With the event of cable and the internet more audiences can be reached. I'm reminded a bit of Don Henley's "End of the Innocence." (Then again Don Henley is a particularly sad individual).
zii90: I'm not sure I would read that much into it, though that's an interesting take on it. I think it has more to do with the culture becoming more cynical and ironic each year. Sure, this stuff from '91 is already pretty sassy and snarky, but compared to now it sometimes seems downright innocent. It's right in line with the rest of the culture embracing snark as pretty much the only state of being there is, LOL. (Don't get me wrong, I love snark, but today you can't get AWAY from it.)
I love the inventiveness of the old eggo waffle commercials, and the Fruit Rox fruit snacks. Fruit snacks of the future, i dont even remember them after 1991, but it was a fun commercial either way.
Holy cow. The Fruit Rox! I have remembered that one all these years. I always thought it had such a STRANGE atmosphere as a kid, which is why it stuck with me. Those eerie colors....yeesh.
I'd also forgotten those Tiny Toons bumpers until now. I always did love that theme music by Bruce Broughton.
LMAO@the voice for the TMNT bumper @ 0:30. Sounds like he's on the toilet & constipated. That's also John Fiedler's voice (a.k.a "Piglet" from the New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh) as the narrator in the "Birdie Learned How to Fly" ad. I loved Cheetos PAWS!
fantom, it's been harder for students to be represented by their elected when their elected are faced with new required occupations in order to carry out democracy on campus. This makes it harder for us to get our foot in the door so they can listen to every possible issue. Have gotten the messages?
This was when Bugs Bunny started to act like his shit don't stink.

I remember Fruit Rox! I used to eat a lot of those in first grade. That was right before Gushers became so popular, I believe.
