What size(s) of Smart Pots are you using? I am the former peppersnsmartpots from the comment above and I have a 65gal for a Brandywine. I think yours seem to be about that size. My peppers are going in 10gal Smart Pots, and I have potatoes in a 45gal, and may put more potatoes in the 25gal from last year.
Again the potatoes worked well for me in a Smart Pot, you should give 'em a try.
And thanks again, your '09 garden video is the main reason I'm into Smart Pots.
I've watched your 2 vids & now I wanna use these smart pots too. This will be 1st yr in growing all heirlooms, but i was wondering what kinda soil mix do u use? Buying bagged soil can get pretty expensive & how do you recycle the soil? Do you regrow in same soil? I know that can lead to disease problems & mineral/fertlizer deficiencies if you keep growing same type veggie in same soil instead of crop rotation, especially if you get a blight like what happened probably to you brandywine!
Great looking tomatoes! I myself am growing peppers in 5 and 7gallon Smart Pots. I also have friend who I mixed soil for and planted a tomato in a 25gal Smart Pot. These things are great. Your vid from last year was all the kick in the butt I need to move away from traditional plastic containers. Thank you!!! And do you grow organic? Living organic soil loves Smart Pots.
Jurassic sized plants and production to boot, quite an amazing accomplishment! I have tasted one of these tomatoes this year, and it was like eating a tomato flavored cloud from heaven.... Perfect in every way. You my friend need to be a farmer.
