If your not going to wash your hands, at least use some hand sanitizer. That's why I carry around a bottle of hand sanitizer with me, and just in case, after I shake someone's hand, I use some.
Another thing that is gross as hell is when women put their purse or food item on the restroom floor. So many germs and unknown bacteria are on that floor that you now put onto your purse bottom or food item. :( Some one could have stepped on dog dropping and used that stall that you now placed your lovely purse or food item onto. :( Think about that next time you don't use the door hanger for your purse.

Not only do I wash my hands, I wipe the toilet seat with paper (if the toilet liner isn't available and use paper to flush the toilet and open the bathroom door.

I don't wash my hands when I go pee because unlike a lot of people I have the ability not to pee on myself (if I do pee on myself I wash it off with regular water, no chemicals); the only time I wash my hands is if I get poo on them. Germs are every where if people keep washing their hands it just makes them more vulnerable when something worse comes along, we're suppose to fight those germs so our immune system becomes stronger.
but what about the surfaces you touch throughout the day- outside of the restroom! Going to the restroom gives you an opportunity to wash those germs away.. not just 'your own'.. but others (from the door handle, etc)!! Don't you think?

Yes I do wash my hands once I get home after a long day of touching things and when I can tell they are obviously dirty; I just don't wash my hands every single time I go to the restroom and most of the time I'm at my house when I use bathroom so they really aren't that dirty.

Sorry, but I don't often see women not washing their hands-- I'd say, most of us are relatively conscious of washing our hands if not our hygiene. Similar situation with the faucet handles. You go to touch them to turn them on DIRECTLY AFTER doin your business. After washing your hands, you touch the SAME germy faucet handles. Now, are your hands REALLY clean? Suggestion, Use a paper towel to turn the water off. Also, get your paper towel ready BEFOERE you wash your hands so you don't have to touch the crank or button to distribute the towels.

I stayed with my friend for 4 days who went to the toilet and didnt wash his hands even after taking a dump. He later questioned me why i wash my hands. He then touched all my things. I had to wait for him to have a shower for his hands to be clean.

Sorry, but I don't often see women not washing their hands-- I'd say, most of us are relatively conscious of washing our hands if not our hygiene. It's mainly because we can't stay away from the mirrors... you're checking yourself out, might as well be doing something else at the same time, right? That's my experience.

i was in hospital the other week and this women didnt wash her hands after she had been to the toilet. And thats in a hospital no wonder there are loads of germs and infections there!!
I used a paper towel to open the door then, but im going to start doing that regularly =)

My dad almost never washes his hands after using the bathroom, and it's really frustrating because he starts cooking right afterwords.
and BTW my mother also never washes her hands, I think I've only seen her wash her hands twice in my life.

i dont think this happens with guys but when i tell my friends i'm going to the bathroom (during lunch) they'll all be like "OK! i'll come with you!" and they don't understand that sometimes you just wanna be alone to do personal things....

they probably think "oh, i didn't actually touch the poop so it's ok" but you should wash your hands anyway.
i understand people [usually girls] who go into the stalls for private stuff but don't actually use the bathroom so they don't wash their hands but if you hear some pee or something fall into the toilet and the person just leaves w/o washing their hands, than that is just disgusting >.>

A woman at work didn't wash her hands after leaving the stall. She walked over to the sink and put her fingers through her hair THEN WALKED OUT OF THE BATHROOM without any water touching her hands! That was the first time I saw a woman that disgusting. I have watched her do the same thing several times since then. She also touches up her makeup! I always use a napkin to open the door, since some women can be more concerned with how their hair looks than taking care of their hygiene.

Similar situation with the faucet handles. You go to touch them to turn them on DIRECTLY AFTER doin your business. After washing your hands, you touch the SAME germy faucet handles. Now, are your hands REALLY clean? Suggestion, Use a paper towel to turn the water off. Also, get your paper towel ready BEFOERE you wash your hands so you don't have to touch the crank or button to distribute the towels.

what are you talking about? when i look at the guys at my school im sometimes like 'what the hell?!' because already the 5th graders dont wash their hands...or they just put their hands for a few seconds under the water without even looking at the soap. i mean thats the 'i-pretend-im-washing-my-hands-so-i-can-silcence-my-conscience-method' and i see that way too often

...dude, I don't think a few people in america who don't wash their hands should speak for the whole country. Also, just because you wash your hands (or wash in general with soap) doesn't mean all of Europe does. I'm quite sure there are numerous people who don't. Geography has nothing to do with it...it's all about personalities and no two people's are the same. Please don't say stuff like that, it's pretty narrow-minded. Oh yeah, and God Bless the WORLD! ^_^

I think this is cultural thing. You do not see a sign, "Employees wash your hands before you..." in Europe. I have American friends... many of them wash hands, but when I went to public places I saw bad things. I think some people(especially kids) adopting bad habits from dirty people.
