I saw then yesterday in manchester(4/07/08). very good fun. they played in Moho. i dont know if it was the original formation. I actually enjoy both versions, and it really depends on what part of songwriting you talk about. When it comes to solos, the Skatalites will just blow your mind (saw them last year and it was one of the highlights of my life). Lyrically, that's where the Specials had them beat. Anyways, don't overanalize music too much, just enjoy it ;) (BTW: Neither band wrote the song, the tune is actually from an old war movie with the same name, and a pretty good one too.)
