  • all these comments about the lines....1. yes the man said 2 1/2 ,but although they seemed to be stopped for "lay-in" it doesnt mean the command meant for supply line......as for attack lines isnt it most common for 1 1/2 - 1 3/4 for attack (interior) and the rest for "master streams" defensive mode?

  • 2.5 inch is plenty big enough for residential

  • What was on fire?

  • dang a 2 1/2 seems like overkill for that

  • A 2 1/2 for a supply line?

Not anywhere near enough....maybe that's all they had....but for supply should have been a 5" from the road.

  • I was talking about the 2 1/2 in handlines... We always use 5in on structure fires. But that looks like a shed or something

  • We would use an 13/4 precon for a shed.

  • I see.

    For a shed, why not?

Sometimes it's easy to armchair quarterback but I think you see my point. Somethings are just plain obvious.

  • @Wonkawillie77 Some companies, especially rural, run dual 3" or 2 1/2" supply lines. Where I run at now has 5" supply line as well as some 3", more city and almost no rural area. Where I'm starting to run at now, has dual 3" supply lines (95% rural), that can dual or single lay, on the pumpers and it works for out here. It's about what's best for your area. Would you rather have 30-50 gallons (3" supply) or 100+ gallons (5" supply line) per 100 ft on a rural water situation like this one?

  • well im a jr ff on my deptpartment it usually jus me and my buddies and acouple people in the middle of the day casue they all work...and it gets hectic when we get a structure or a bad storm i kno how u feel

  • Damn it's been forever since I've gotten to see something like that. Ain't caught a fire in 5 or 6 months. Awesome video. See you all in the morning for Trench Rescue.

  • man we had a fire like that 3 weeks ago in wormlysburg. i run with new cumberland fire department in pa. and i understand that to being short handed. but good job with ur response. keep it up guys

  • Hey, I know how it feels to get to a fire and be short handed. There are only 15 guys at in my department and thoose mid-day calls kill us.

  • Well we had 3 on the engine and 4 more coming on another engine. But still it was the middle of the day and its still hard.

  • @bcvfd4185

my dept has 11 during the day and less at night D:

  • im a junior right now. sometimes fire calls get me shaking real bad but for some reason the ems cals get me going bad and i dont even go on the rig at all, i just fill out rosters and run the radio. wierd yes? :/

  • i know the feeling, im a jr also, what department are you with? i used 2 get that way, but now im so used 2 it, structure fires are routine...dont worry, ull get over it

  • low moor fire dept, low moor iowa. structure fires here are rare. but yea, i really dont get shakey anymore.. its almost sad. i miss that feeling lol.

  • haha yeah how many runs does ur departmetn do?

  • You mother fuckers are cool Im glad you guys do what you do. Thanks for posting

  • Nice video :: I wish there would've been more with the fire or more trucks showing up [behind].

  • Too busy fighting fire.

  • lol, I can believe that.

  • Wow, talk about the Big Eye. Tell that Engineer to take a deep breath and relax.

  • What was the severity of the MVA?

  • I can honestly say I have never seen an engineer driving with a helment on, as an engineer myself you couldnt catch me dead driving with the cairns on my head...

  • We were on an MVA when the call went out I geuss he just didnt take it off.

  • When I was a jr. firefighter. The first thing my capt. told me was to never run on a fire scene. 2nd) try to take a second to put a pop a stick of gum in my mouth to help curb the initial adrenaline rush.

  • Waaaaay too much siren for such little traffic.

  • See the little traffic really isnt a facotr for siren...Most states laws indicate that when lights are on..siren must be on.

  • R u serious the Q is the loudest best siren to ever use. It moves traffic and alerts others better than anything else. U must have never ever listened to any Prince Georges county trucks or DC.

The electric siren just breaks the sounds up so people driving dont have one sound to ignore.

  • who really cares? better safe than sorry....at least they got to the scene quickly and safely

  • hehe as much as i love fire, dude relax WOW!

  • I know for some reason I just cant get him to calm down. We pick on him alot about that. He just gets really into it.

  • i remember being like that when i was a junior member, now its not as bad...just every now and then ;)

  • cool!

  • WANA SEE MORE DAM IT HA HA HA
