Did you all know that this Psalm is the main Psalm for Yom Kippur. This is part of the Psalms of Ascent from the Temple service. The Levitical musicians used to step on the 15 steps that ascended from the court of the woman to the court of Israel and the Priest would sing Psalm 120 to 135 15 steps teaching Israel how to ascend to the presence of the King of the Universe. Be in awe of the Elohim of Abraham, Isaac and Yacob.
This is one of my absolute favorite psalms because it is so powerful and spiritually motivating. However, I'm sorry but this guy's voice puts me to sleep and he didn't do enough with the musical instrumentation for me. This video makes me wish that Donnie McClurkin was a Jew because he would most definitely bring it!
This tune is so melancholy, but it is also full of hope....hope in the Most High, our only true source of help. It is a good "lullaby" to play when one is having a difficult day. *****
@SurfaceOfTheEye - a little more nuance is called for here, I think. There is hope in the words of the Psalm itself, to be sure, and of course the lyric is inspired in a way that the music is not. But in a skillful musical meditation, the emotional content of the lyric will be very present -- and this is very skillfully written indeed.
@wizardofrhythm GOD works through His Gospel for the Salvation of men, but music is not used. Music might be a tool used to convey the words of The Gospel, but nothing else.
@SurfaceOfTheEye That is an over-simplification of the Kingdom of God. His plans are a lot bigger than only giving us tickets to heaven. He wants to redeem EVERYthing about this world.
@wizardofrhythm : This world is doomed to be destroyed by the end of the Millennial reign of Christ when He will bring to nought all things, and create everything a new.
@SurfaceOfTheEye I don't expect theological arguments with strangers through youtube comments will be very fruitful, so I'm going to stop this here. Peace be with you.
@wizardofrhythm : Well, you can always Private Message me, if you are interested in a private ping pong game. For it being unfruitful, it is only unfruitful if you want it to be and if you are not willing to lay down your own little weapons, and take on the only Weapon worthwhile using, The Word of GOD. Let me know.
I did not know this fact!
Thank you for commenting and giving me this precious information.
GOD bless you from Zion!

Psalm 130
3 If you, O LORD, kept a record of sins, O Lord, who could stand?
4 But with you there is forgiveness; therefore you are feared.

@HadasahMiryam : the Hope is the words of the Psalm itself, not necessarily the music. It is the words that we need to concentrate on!

@SurfaceOfTheEye Then why bother listening to it set to music? God works through music more than any of us could ever imagine.

Thank you for your comment!
I think that the Psalms paint the picture that we need to be in relation to the worship of the True and Living GOD!

Sterile crucifix, represents incompetence.
Foolish lies from the son of god.
The false prophet of eternal life.
Lucifer laughs and throws him into the fire.
Jesus no longer exists, he has drowned in the fiery abyss.
Leviathan rises forth, hunger satisfied by a holy corpse.
Burn your bible in vain, Lucifer shall forever reign.
Praise the dark demons, their blessing we have invoked.
Slay the begotten lamb, his flock is dust in the sand.
On a battered cross, christ's head is served.
