  • where can i get the overton whistle?

  • nice use of 'piper' fingering...best and only way to play low D

  • Do you know where one can find the sheet music for this song? I love the song and would love to play it on my whistle.

I don't hear a big difference between the two whistles, which do you prefer?

  • where i can get this flute online?

  • @siriusmercurio You can try Hobgoblin or Whistleanddrum

  • ehnorabuena precioso tema me ha encantado

  • ehnorabuena precioso tema

  • pity the background is too loud and with a bit shitty rhythm... you play well anyway!

  • thanks. I have small hands so I might go for the chieftain.

  • Absolutely a beautiful tune, and well done, too. Does it have a name?

    Thanks for sharing.

  • i personally went to see bernard overton to buy my low whistle i was really lucky i spent a few hours trying many of his low d and g whistles he was so helpful he had stopped selling on a big scale then and was just making whistles for his own reasons i never asked but he guided me to finding the best low g and gave me as much time as i needed to make up my mind to what felt good for me they all have a little difference some are worked to get a good low note and others a clear upper octave

  • This song is absolutely gorgeous..it brought tears to my eyes....beautifully played...very emotional...one of my favourites of your videos other than the one you did for the tribute to "Bernard".

  • @11AngelD11 Oh, I'm so glad to touch other person emotions...Thank you!

  • @andrenm2 Anytime...(hugz)

    see ya

  • i like the overton much more!!!!

    how much?

  • @freezehands Depends on what cowntry you are, from which cowntry you buy...It's really very relative, I can't say a price...

  • Very good!!!!!

  • Thankyou for this tune. Its great for practise the low d.

  • very very nice........

  • This is a great comparison. Thank you. :)

  • Thank you!

  • Oh, too bad, I would like to play it :)

  • Does anybody know where to find sheets for this tune?

  • there aren't sheets for this tune...it's a christian song from Brazil, singed in some churches...

  • your great musician!!

  • Damn fine playing sir. For sound - the overton by a country mile. I sold my soul to the devil to get my first one about 25 years ago (still have it BTW). They are cranky and finicky for tuning (i.e. you can't - so check each one out before you buy that it is perfect pitch). They are also very temperature sensitive (sharper if cold). Finally (at least older ones) are susceptible to blockage in the spout from condensation (your breath!) - dipping in a light olive oil periodically sorts it.

  • Yes, great apointments...

Unfortunally, I bougthed they both by internet, so I couldn't had the chance to test them...

    Thanks for the comments...

  • Ahhh so bloody good what can I say but thank you

  • sounds good

  • the last one sounds the best tone to me nice playing indeed

  • yeah its so much better the overton , but u how much time u are playing whistle? becuase... you began with the best low whistle:S but anyway the only thing its the aire and the presion but normally a beginner begin with tony dixon low d in plastic or something similar XDDD but its ok and u must to practice more with tin whistle XD in the other videosof comparations really the only whistle are good are d tony dixon in d brass and the susato, but i prefere susate kyldare is the best tin whistle

  • aorund the low prices, for me really the best tin whistle and in low whistle are the Overton company are the best^^ u must buy one soprano in D are incredible not comporation about the others tin whistles!:D:D

  • Two thumbs up!! Check me out by seaching "Dugan tin whistle" That was great!!!

  • I am in love with the low d! And you play it beautifully! and this song haunts the hell out me, and you Deliver so well!

  • Thank you so much for your comment...It made me glad

  • Separate comment, because this one is about you. You play beautifully. And, especially for such a young man, your sensitivity and feel for the music is outstanding. You and your girlfriend make a lovely duet in every way. Congratulations.

  • Your comment was very special to me...Very thanks for this....

  • Andre, I have subscribed. I've been playing very little in the month I've had my whistle, because I really don't like the high (piercy) register, but, at the local shops, they didn't even know that the low whistles exist. Now, I know, and I'll get one. Thank you for the opportunity to comparison shop.

  • This is a lovely instrument...It is recomended...Thanks for all, and for the subscription...

  • Merci pour tous ces bons conseils... Très jolie vidéo ! Belle performance technique, bravo : 5 *****

  • Merci

  • The Chieftain is a Low D V3 untuneable or tuneable?

Thanks and congratulations, you know how to play !

  • Untuneable...

    Thanks for all...

  • thanks for that, its good to have a comparison. i like the overton but had heard the bottom hole was quite a stretch! cheers

  • Great video. I got an overton for Christmas this last year and I love it. The sound is amazing, though it does take some getting used to.

    Anyway, great job, as always.

  • The chieftain is easyer...thanks for all

  • awesome...Freakin awesome!

  • Great to see a comparison of the two. That is a Colin Goldie Overton, right? I cant say that i recommend holding the whistle as you do with the Overton for beginners, or anyone for that matter. There are no shortcuts to learning how to hold it and play it at the same time, so I would suggest to learn it properly from the beginning.

  • I respect your opinion...I play a lot of instruments for almost 17 years, since the harmonica, passing the violin, to the piano and guitar, and I know how the fingers hurt in the first weeks you are learning an instrument, so, my opinion (respecting your, of course) is, in that weeks when your hand is wounded, to hold in a different way...But, I know, each person have a different way to learn an instrument, that's just my way...Thanks for your comment...I like a lot your videos...

  • absolutley beautiful! :D

i really like the overton - the tone is fantastic. thank you and GOD bless :)

  • Very very very nice!

  • THats what im talking about man! finally!, been asking you to do more low d whistle songs and you finally did sounds great do another one!

  • I wanted to record a low whistle comparison for so long...i finally did it...thank you

  • Well do more man, do some really slow ones like you did before such as "Tribute to Bernard Overton" that one was awesome.

    Do it for your fan!!

  • hahaha...I'll try...

  • This sounds very nice. You can certainly tell the difference between the two whistles. The Chieftain is nice but you can't beat the tone of an Overton, that's a classic.

  • :) very good
