LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this song - and i'm a longtime fan of all of his stuff. This is so tight when you listen to it in context with the other 12 tracks [on Road to Ensenada, 1996 - just a mezmerizing CD start > finish] Wish there was a live version of this on YT - the visuals are underwhelming. gotta love the comments below about WHO KNEW he could sing? lol. if you know his name, dontcha just KNOW how GOOD he is???
@JEAARCHITX Think again, this is the one and only Lyle "That's right I am from Texas" Lovett! This is a highlight from a very good collection entitled "Road To Ensanada". Long Live Lyle!
HEY HEY HEY! isaiah41vs10 you done good old son, I absolutely LOVE this song! In fact the long player from which this sprung may be one of the best ever recorded I AM SERIOUS, not delirious, live with it for a while folks, "The Road To Ensanada" from Lyle By God Lovett, it is a most pleasureable listening experience, hear me now, believe me later! Too bad that you left some of "Private Conversation" out, it is a smokin' puppy! You Tube thanks for the Space, Long Live Lyle and ROCK ON SHINDIGGERS
the man and his large band put on one helluva' show!! i had the privelage to see him in concert for my birthday, and even tho' i did't think i was gonna like it, i had a memorable evening (to say the least!) i've got my collection started!!
I only saw him once, and I thout it was fantastic. I caught alot of sh*&^K%K^?K from my ex-wife, in front of everyone we saw when we were together. Hence the EX part. She actualy tried to drag me to see Ricky Martin. Before the divorce was final
it was all piped in on the muzac system we had. i loved going to work we also had Yanni and patrick o'hearn as well as smashing pumkins and erasure just to name a few
@isaiah41vs10 Noo Isaiah you did a tad more than that ya see there is quite a bit of the song left so you basically slammed the "HIS" of the story's DICK in thee door before he got to use it. It was aa private circumcisation...Heeeeeeeeeeehy !
Yeh...it would be nice if this were downloaded again. Nice job...but it cuts out before the ending.

And dance right where you are
And the moral of this story
Is I guess it's easier said than done
To look at what you've been through
And to see what you've become
I needed to hear that today. Perfect that I randomly ran across this song.
